Yeah I've never really understood the confusion with a console exclusive. The PC isn't a console, I'm sorry. Sure it plays games but its in a totally seperate generation and in terms of user base and architecture and such its quite different as well. A console exclusive is an exclusive at the end of the day because the PS3 and 360 are competing with each other but not with the PC. Neither MS or Sony view PC as a competitor due to the big differences between them and odds are people who are deciding which console to buy look at the "console exclusive" games as TRUE exclusives as well. Especially the casual gamer who has no idea if its on the PC. They'll just walk into their local gamestore, look at the shelves for the two differenct consoles and decide which one has games they prefer the other doesn't.
And the VAST majority of gamers are "casual gamers". Trust me I've worked in game retail for years and well over 50% of the user base of both the PS3 and 360 would be labeled as a "casual gamer" by most of the users on here.

I assume this is about software sales and not the impact these "console exclusives" had a console, so there is no point including them. Why don't you just make a thread for the impacts "exclusives" had on hardware. This is a comparison of software that is found exclusively on a platform, not the impacts on a console. I have no problem with this thread, other than the ignoring of the wii, because, as D21lewis said, there is a thread for actual exclusives. Lastly, I think you guys may need a new term for what you call "console exclusives" because the true meaning of it is when a game is available on consoles, and not the pc.

Haha CoD2 Big Red One is a spin-off to the Call of Duty series before Activision let Treyarch officially work on Call of Duty 3.
Think of FF Versus XIII. It wouldn't be exclusive either since it's on the 360 under the name of FFXIII.

I think with Kinect Adventures costing $150 its sales are pretty impressive and should stay.

What is useless about it? There is already another thread comparing PS3 and 360 exclusives with the ones he wants taken out. No need to create a third. His comment useless.
