Forums - Gaming - Besides an absurd backstory, what does Homefront bring to the table?

Apparently Kaos Studios hires the writer of the movie Red Dawn to come up with YET ANOTHER America is invaded story, that HAD to have a unified Korea take over the pacific rim, and then invade the United States for whatever reason.  The writer must of figured out a way get China out of the picture in this mix.

Ok, I will say that Homefront IS trying to go for more players in a match at the sametime online, but what else does it do that isn't out there now?  All I see is the absurd backstory, and the larger than number of normal for players.  Anything else?

It has the unique feature of having the shooting mechanics in a first person viewpoint, so it's like you're actually in the game. Amazing, I know, but the advent of this is sure to create a whole new genre of shooters.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

hey i see what you did their!!

well first of all in homefront when you do an action in multiplayer you are rewarded with points and you can use these points to buy drones/ helicopters/ tanks/ uavs......

other then that it has some gameplay aspects relating to that such as killing a person who has high points so he wont get a chopper.

Being in 3rd place never felt so good

it has this online pass so when you buy it used you'll have to get a new online pass!

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

nothing absolutely nothing, and i think Sony beat them to the punch with MAG in how much people can play online at once

well the whole resistant gruelia warfare sounded good until they had you controlling drone wiping out everything and doesnt seem you are an untrained civilian but really an super solider like any other solider.

so to answer your question: no, nothing really cool has been shown

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

The battle commander system and dynamic battle objectives (which give you points to spend on weapons and vehicles) aren't anything exactly new, I guess, but they're not used all that often, either. The whole thing seems like a mix between Modern Warfare, Section 8, and Frontlines: Fuel of War, which sounds pretty cool to me.

You shoot and murder countless Korean soldiers. An enemy other than your standard Chinese/Russian/German/Rico wannabes

As I said, Homefront is innovative

Also, it's the 105th game to copy Call of Duty. There's a 104th and 106th soon-to-be game, but none other have the honor of being #105

I think the invasion of America isn't even the most absurd backstory in Homefront.

As if the son of Kim Jong il could unite Korea and at the same time stay as their leader.
