They only thought they were going to get abouit 100K pre-ordered? Are they crazy. In Japan they pretty much sold out in 24hrs. of 400K units. If nintendo had another 600K on shelves in Japan, those would have sold as well. 100K in pre-orders is nothing. In the U.S. I'm pretty sure pre-orders are well over 200K by now. It's going to be huge.

Why are people always exaggerating... -_-

He is exaggurating, but if it was 500k it likely still have sold out

What you say and what he says are two completely different things. What he said is that if there was 1m consoles for the launch, they would have all sold out, which is completely wrong. What you say is possible, yet there were 30k sill on shelves, and people didn't care looking for them to find them.

Everything sells out at launch. It isn't really a big deal.

Selling out isn't a big deal. It's being the biggest launch ever that's the big deal, though even that tends to happen pretty often so it isn't a huge deal.

Not yet the biggest launch, actually. It will be soon. And no doubt it will also have amazing legs and be harder to find than a King Metal Slime a Platinum King Jewel in Dragon Quest IX for the first few months after launch as well

Fixed. And I knew that. Was just saying that it's a big deal 'cause it's gonna be the biggest launch evar!

Platinum King Jewel is what I meant. I just couldn't remember the name

Number include online retailers and aren't always 100%. Some online retailers and small stores in the middle of nowhere may have had a few

A few 30k. Which is almost 7.5% of the whole shipments, so that's "a few". And those 30k still on shelves were confimred by several tracking companies, and by VGC too btw.

Meh. It would have still been very difficult to find one. Very few things sell out at launch, there's always a few, I believe around 85%  of the shipment is what the 'business' calls a sell-out

Meh. Yea and you can believe whatever you want, and bringing that as a fact because you have no more arguments is quite funny. Then let's do the same, i believe a sell out is when there's less than 5% on shelves.

I believe it's a sell-out when there's less than -1% of stock left on shelves

Whatever. No way that you can't say that, even if it's just a slight increase, that the sales wouldn't be up if there were more stock on shelves. I have to wonder how many were turned away due to empty shelves...

High price tag? The price has gone down since it was first announced. From the 230 quid to lower than 200. Same thing in Europe droping from 250 euros to 220.
