love the battles in this game but the story was ... childish

I still need to pick it up, Star Ocean 2 was one of my favorite games on the PS1, and 3 waas pretty good as well

Don't play with English VO and the game becomes about 5 times better, on PS3 anyways since 360 doesn't have the multi language with voice. Combos are super OP in that game though, you basically never run out of mana after a certain point and can just spam shit non stop lol.

I picked it up a few months ago and have yet to play it, I should probably get around to it soon.

For JRPG, FFXIII is not realy a standard to compare to since its just a very expensive emo rubbish, most JRPGs minus the Trinity something game would be better than it. Try Valkyria Chronicles, that should be the standard for a good JRPG.

I don't think we're going to get a game like Valkyria Chronicles again for a long time.  Not unless someone at Square gets off their ass and goes to Matsuno and be like "Make Final Fantasy Tactics 2/Tactics Ogre HD with the game engine from Valkyra Chronicles".  Hell the FMV cutscenes from Lions War is almost identical to Valkyria's style.  Valkyria Chronicles is the next step for strategy turn based RPGs and no one is capitalizing on it.

You clearly do not own a copy of Demon Souls.

Underappreciated? It wasn't tha good of a game. And this is one of the reasons why it was underwhelming

I disagree. Did you play with japanese VA? She is so dumb that is funny. A 15 years old teenager behaving like a 6 year old child because of traumatic events has her moments. :) 

 "'Kay!" only on subtitles is much better. Believe!
