Forums - Nintendo - Five Game Gear games coming to 3DS Virtual Console

“This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Game Gear system, and we believe that releasing these titles on the groundbreaking Nintendo 3DS is a great way to commemorate the occasion,” said Haruki Satomi, vice president of Digital Business at SEGA of America. “Both new fans and those with fond memories of time spent playing their Game Gear will surely find something to love in our upcoming lineup of Nintendo eShop titles.”

The five games are:

At last I can try out the Game Gear Sonic games.

Talking about VC... is anything known about pricing yet?

I really hope they won't ask 500 Yen for Gameboy and Game Gear games (i.e. same level as NES games on Wii VC). 200-300 Yen would be great.

Basically I think Nintendo's VC prices are way too high. They should learn from Sony once. 600 Yen for PS1 games is a great deal. 600 Yen for N64 games would be equally good. 400 for SNES games and 200 or 300 Yen for NES games would be OK.

The sales show the prices work for people. And before you bring emulators into this, those are likely already why those games don't cost even more. Plus not every PS1 game is that price. Many are the price of N64 games on the VC.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
