Please, I have a serious question, and I don't want this thread locked because someone comes in here posting anti-VGC Pro comments.

So to any moderators who read this, I make small investments using VGC data and I've been doing this since 2008. I only joined VGC a year ago, but I would like to get access to full VGC data. I track the data as you post it, so I don't mind contributing, or blogging every month to help the website out.

So what do I have to do to aquire VGC Pro status? I'm made an enquiry using an informal e-mail (I don't want to use my work e-mail on VGC), but I've gotten no responce.

Well, it isn't releasd yet...but ioi has talked like it will be a membership in the thousands of dollars.  While you indicate you are investing based on the data, if it is "small" investments (I'm not totally sure what classifies as small), you'd probably be better off gathering the data yourself, since what I've seen is that Pro simply takes the data and has it in much easier to read fashions.

Well it's less then $1,000 a year. I already organize the data in the way VGC used to publish it (Mind the gap, month sales, etc). I just wanted to know more then the top 40 games weekly.

I think he might be saying he invests less than $1,000 per year.  But yeah, the cost will be in the thousands (but less than 10 I believe).  I don't really see why there is no option for people who are between those with a casual interest and large investors/corporations.  Although I guess if there was a ~$100/yr or less subscription that gave all the previously free data plus some new things, it would make selling the subscription that costs thousands a lot more difficult.

OT: The plans haven't been fully outlined yet. There should be different payment schemes, but none of them are finalised yet. So you'll just have to wait, I'm afraid. Until when? I have no idea. I don't think even ioi will know until it's done. But it's happening relatively soon.

Har. With the site's revenue, he needs to pay his own salary, Chris' salary and various amounts of money to different people (including myself). He needs to pay for bandwidth to keep the site running. He needs to subsidise the cost of attending conventions. He needs to pay for the costs of tracking data (because it does cost money).

He's not doing this for the hell of it, he's doing it to bring in revenue that the site needs.
