Wii Dance... you heard here first folks!

Nintendo's entire reason for getting Retro was to make mature games. Wii Dance is HIGHLY unlikely.

it could be mature dancing using samus in here underware ;) :D

she dances here way to kill instead of shooting! sexy i know

:P

i want a new metroid from them!!! or a new FPS for ze swe de es

Give Team Ninja full control over a Metroid game and I bet we would see something like that.

I never played a Team Ninja game before Other M, but from that game alone I hate them soooo much.

The game plays itself.  It's so god damn easy, linear, auto aims.... it felt like kirby's epic yarn but somehow that game managed to at least be a little fun....eh getting off track.

I'd be so happy if Retro becomes what Rare was for Nintendo back in the SNES days.  I just hope they don't keep producing one title at a time.  Tho that's probably given the industry standards for games, with bigger budgets and way more things to take care of.

Um, Team Ninja's games aren't really like that. So a lot of the blame also lies with Sakamoto.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

^^^I hope so.  Again, I haven't played their other games.  I do know though that their other games are nothing like the genre that Other M was.  Well, whichever it was, Sakamoto or Team Ninja, I hope they stay off the next Metroid.

Nobody ever assumes that people learn from their mistakes. Project M was an excellent collaborative group that built an absolutely crackerjack engine for blending the two previous epochs of Metroid-dom (side-scrolling 2D and First Person), the problems with the game (which have been severely overblown by a dedicated hatebase), were large-scale things that could be easily adjusted in the future (hell, could have easily been adjusted: unlock a few doors, come up with a deus ex machina to explain how she lost her powers again so she has to get them back, and tone down her response to Ridley by 20%, and bam, no problems), which would be a natural response to the criticism.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I wasn't on board with the hatebase you refer to.  I simply played The Prime games and Super Metroid many times and was hoping for an awesome game.  I hated it and thought everyone else loved it when I saw the generous reviews it was getting.

I do agree that if the backlash is bad enough then we can probably see some changes that alter the game from what it was.  But if it's made by the same people I can't imagine any swift overhauls, otherwise why would they want to work on a title that is completely changed from what they loved.

Executive oversight, mainly. The other egregious assumption from those opposed to Other M was that Sakamoto was a loose cannon doing whatever the hell he pleased, which is so far outside the pale for someone like that. Doubtlessly they were his proposals for his perfect Metroid game, but someone higher up at Nintendo thought it was a good idea, and given Other M's results, they're going to mandate change

Agreed

And I thought that Other M was good...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
