That'd be nice. But I can see that feature being abused, with the Gamerscore hacks and now the Trophy hacks too, so not coming any time soon methinks.
Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

Actually, I prefer trophies over achievements even though I game on my Xbox 360 almost exclusively. The primary difference between the two is that trophies at least give some recognition for completionists like myself who like to actually finish most of the games that I play. For gamerscore, there is no difference between me getting 1000/1000 in two worlds (should be given a medal for playing that stupid game so long) and someone else just casually playing 10 different games for a half hour or so getting around 200 points each.
I only have about 8 platinums on my psn account when I made a switch over to that for a brief few months, but I noticed that I really had a greater sense of accomplishment when I finally got a platinum that I did not and still do not get when I 1000/1000 a game.
Hopefully, they will change this for achievements eventually. I can't tell you how many impressive gamerscores I have seen which turned out to just be some guy that played a whole bunch of games and never completed any of them.

haha well kudos then haha
I'm more impressed with game specialists that prove their worth in progaming/leaderboards. Getting a high gamerscore just means you play a lot.
Gamerscore all the way.
Don't like the trophy sound and the levelling system is pretty useless since it takes just too long to get to a new level and the older PS3 games (some very very good ones) don't have'em so it's pretty half-assed if I may say so.
And for those who want to see someone's Gamerscore skill, just visit trueachievements.com
Both have such a small impact and value when it comes to gaming... that I can't believe I took the time to make this post. Its like, do you like a cherry or strawberry on top of your cake? Don't care, I like the actual cake myself...
i like trophies b/c they sound better to me when awarded it feels like you really won something
also i like trophies better b/c there more stats on you profile they include level, amount of trophies, and amount of each type of trophy bronze, gold, silver, and platinum
the only time i hate trophies is when they are extremely hard or time consuming to get i like to have all my games platinumed i only have 2 of 19 games that are not platinumed

Achievements are better due to the support, (in every game (XBLA), dedicated sites Mygamercard and trueachievements) other than that there is littler difference. And having dedicated suport on Xbox.com so you can compare to friends lists, which is the whole point of these as they're just about bragging and completing. Does PS3 trophies have this yet?
People saying "er what is gamerscore then"? well .. what does levelling up in trophies mean? What is level 7 to me? I don't know if that's low or high, just like 50k gamerscore. So shut up.
Platinums - 100%.
Gold,Silver, Bronze = 10, 25, 50, 100 GS ...
The only argument PS3 fans have is "oh it's just easier to see how people have done by looking at platinums".
So all that said, obviously Achievements
Trophys. Gamerscore is just numbers while Trophys are also levels and medals.
