Lost Legend of Zelda film trailer found
A lot of video games have been taking the route of Hollywood, getting expensive, glitzy blockbuster make-overs. Of all these crossovers, however, one that has been in demand for over two decades is that of The Legend of Zelda. Meant for Hollywood. Nintendo has been very quiet about the whole thing -- probably a clear indication that they have no intention of taking Link to the big screen. However, did you know that actually, Link was supposed to get on the Hollywood train.
This video here shows the Zelda film produced by Orion Pictures way back in 1987. That was also the same year when the first Zelda game broke through the American market. It's set in a high school filled with Link and the princess, and all other high school stereotypes. It's cheesy, it's cliche, it's an 80s teen flick at its finest. It doesn't seem like it ever saw the light of Hollywood day, but it's still something worth watching, if only for the sentimental value you may have for the franchise. Go on, it runs for a full five minutes. That's not too much to waste on a beloved franchise, right? Click on play and enjoy the Zelda-riffic campiness of it all. This, after all, may be the closest thing we'll ever get to seeing a Zelda movie.
