Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo may be adding to more consoles to VC

I want to buy a saturn, but I am afraid if I do it will appear up in VC...

CD-I!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's what it could be...

Master System: I'd say this one is the most likely. Pricing games around $5-$6 would definitely induce me to buy some of the better titles for the system, especially if they release some of the better titles Stateside that only got EU/JP releases.

MSX: They said that this was coming sooner or later, so I'd put the chances at, "very likely." Still, it'd most likely be a Euro-centric release, with games priced at $6-$8 each.

Sega CD: If they're doing TG-CD games, then I don't see why not. I'd estimate a price point of $10.

Sega 32X: Due to hard drive issues, they might actually emulate the 32X before the Sega CD. And if Knuckles Chaotix is one of the first releases... *crosses fingers* Like SCD games, I'd say $10 each for games.

Saturn: Not likely because of hard drive issues. I'd put chances at, "slim to nil."

Atari Jaguar: I'd say that Jag emulation is more likely than 2600/5200/7800, if only because most games on the latter systems have better versions on the NES - and because most Jag games look more "modern." And that's only if Nintendo could negotiate rights to the games with whoever owns the licenses now. Look for a price point of $8-$9 if they come, which isn't very likely, but always a distant possibility.

Atari 7800: Less likely than the Jaguar, but more likely than the aged 2600. A price point of $5-$6 sounds about right.

Game Boy/Game Boy Color: $4/$5 respectively, I'd say. I doubt Nintendo will start to release these until they announce the DS's successor, but they WILL release them sooner or later.

So, if I had to guess anything, I'd say that the two are MSX and either the Master System or the Sega CD.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

Go ahead and buy one, I say. I doubt Saturn and Dreamcast games will start appearing until the Wii 2, which is at least 4 years down the road. Plus youcan play Panzer Dragoon and NiGHTS. :)

That would indeed be what all true gamers strive for.

(if you're not laughing, then you should probably go and watch the CD-I Zelda cutscenes on YouTube)

MSX and Commodore 64.

I wish it was Saturn though. Or Dreamcast. Oh, the joygasms such an announcement would bring.

Isn't MSX already out in JP VC? I remember reading that somewhere, and it's on wikipedia. I iimagine tha'td be one of them. The other being SMS. But an Atari Console isn't too far off. But they may do something like the Magnavox, or the colecovision, intellivision, but I would love to see teh CD-i!!!!!!!!!! Actually, I'm sure Ninty would love to forget that sham of a system and the Zelda games on there.

Saturn - No (A disc based system, where to store games)
Dreamcast - Dream-on A last gen system?

Most likely
Sega Master System
Atari (2600, or 5200, or 7800, or some combination of the two) Atari is broke, probably willing to sell anything to anyone.

Does Atari own those Atari games? I thought Atari (Infogames right?) just bought the Atari name. I'd love some Atari games on the VC though. Then I could pack up my Atari instead of leaving it hooked up to my TV and try and find a converter for my Balley.

@ Kasz216

Yeah, infogames does own that, so I guess it'd be up to them. LOL at packing up your atarti... you still play it?

Yeah, I still play all my systems. I was just playing "Food Fight!" the other day and played my one friend in Combat. Well I play everything but the N64. I don't really like the controller, and I only have so many TVs. That I only play at my friends place when we play Mario Kart. Though he put his away recently because he just got a Wii. So the N64 i'm pretty much done with unless I want to play some Pokemon Silver on Pokemon Collesuem. Well or the aforementioned Balley because i don't have the right adaptor for it.
