That is also the "genre" that jonager, or pretty much 99% of anyone who actually refers to the genre "JRPG" would like.

You used the 'whatever the majority say is right' argument in an attempt to ignore the most popular JRPG franchise of all time? Seriously?
Face it, the JRPG genre is alive and well and there's nothing you can say that will alter this. What all of you are complaining about is that the market has moved onto the consoles that you do not like; DS, PSP and to a lesser extent, the Wii and even the 360. Whereas you only count a game s a JRPG if it is on a Sony home console.

WTF???....
It's funny how you go from telling me that the JRPG is alive because pokemon and Mario and Luigi games sell a lot to telling me that I just hate the fact that there are a lot of JRPGs now for other consoles, without once trying to understand what I said and trying to comment on that and my point of view, and even go as close as you can to calling me a Sony (or PS3?) fanboy...
Let me explain to you, again, what I said before, in hope that you will try and understand what i'm saying.
Me, and many other pepole fell in love with the JRPG genre because of games like Final Fantasy 7, Chrono Trigger and Xenogears, because they had great stories, atmosphere and soundtracks, and not because of their gameplay.
JRPGs today, no matter the console, have shitty stories compared to what was during the PS1 days, most pepole who care about stories in this genre consider it a fact.
So, what happens when pepole who play genre X for reason A, can't find any more games that have that good "reason A", which in that case I mean stories?
They stop playing the genre, and it's dead for them.
Was I clear enough this time? Do you understand that I don't care how many copies pokemon and mario and luigi games sell? Do you understand that the fact that Pokemon and Mario and Luigi games are JRPG games, and they sell a lot, don't mean anything to me, because I talked about how the genre was dead for me, and for many other pepole because JRPGs don't have good stories anymore, and not from sales prespective?
I do plan on getting a PSP for many of the JRPGs it has, I already got a Wii for Xenoblade and The Last Story (and many other games), I don't plan on getting a DS because the only good JRPG that I heard it has (a JRPG that I will consider "good") is The World Ends with You, and I won't get a 360 for Lost Odyssey and Tales of Vesperia.
