The Last Story sold more than games as Blue Dragon that released in a region with a userbase of 300K...Oh yes The Last Story must be a succes..>_>

Userbase doesn't mean anything. New IPs have difficulty selling in any area, so these sales are pretty expected

You didn't expect FF or MH numbers did you?

Even after we learned the first shipment was 120k you thought first week would be 150k with the second week being half of that.

In another thread you expected 700k lifetime.  Surely a console with only 200k sales after a year would have a tough time selling 700k copies.

It has yet to be proven that userbase does anything to boost sales of a game.

Above: still the best game of the year.

Then you should have been here when Blue Dragon released on X360....A time when you still could post on the charts;....And yes a lot of comments about 'if it was on Wii (and off course) it would have sold a lot more;..

But that is not the main point;..The point is that it was X360...A console that has a hard time in Japan...Even multiplatform games have a hard time selling well....So coming with 'Sales of TLS are not bad because it did better than Mistwalker's Blue Dragon makes TLS sales look rather sad than okay..'.

But then how can you explain that Metroid Prime sold so good and turned out to be the best selling Metroid ever, while Metroid Other M barely has 1/4 of it's sales on a "userbase" 4 times bigger than the GC, and turned out to be the worst selling mainline Metroid ever? Userbase has nothing to do with the sales of a game, the quality of it is the main factor.

Quite the opposite. xbox 360 sales in Japan ar sales to very hardcore people, who likes what Xbox was made for in Japan (like Blue Dragon). Much of Wii userbase there is just because of Wii Fit, Wii Sports, Taiko, NSMBW or anyway totally different IPs than TLS. Actually TLS was made for Wii in order to increase its JRPG userbase, but it looks like it pushed only 5-10k. Still, 150k is not that good, but it's not shitty, right now it's difficult to sell games in Japan, especially if they have many western elements...for a news IP 200k LTD is good; not for a new Nintendo IP though.

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)

Well because those games are just in name Metroid, Gameplay wise they are different some hated the FPS gameplay but most loved it I guess..but that is comparing Halo Reach and Halo Wars..

OH SNAP!

I still expect that LT, but I believe that was in the West. So 700k in the west and 300k in Japan makes, 1 million!

I hope this is trolling. Because pre-orders were nearly 150k...

Using predictions from my similar thrwad, I reckon

140k FW

700k LT (JP)

If it comes to west, 1.5mil LT

: P

(also 300k in Japan is very optimistic)

Well, I was young and nieve then. We didn't realise the sort of drop-off that we'd see, and with a new IP it's always difficult to judge...

300k is optimistic, but I see it having legs. And 400-300k for the West sounds pretty reasonable IMO

I'd like to know if Xenoblade had a "bump" at launch week, but it's harder to see the sales now :/
