Forums - Nintendo - Nights: Journey into Dreams does not live up to its predecessor!

Bump, i just got the game. Do not i repeat DO NOT listen to the reviews!!! The game is AWESOME and deserves at least an 80%. Gorgeous worlds, addictive gameplay, fantastic sound effects and music. It also has 4 control options like Smash. GET IT!!

The original didn't get high marks either. The GameRanking is probably inflated by fan sites and Sega focused magazines.

Actually, the original got around 87%, and that is amazing! Anything that got 80%, or more, is good. The main thing is, the newer Nights is not as good as the older one... What a shame...

Hmmmm....

I'll reserve judgement on this till I play it. I'm sure a lot of people are seeing things through nostaligic rose-tinted glasses. Most people seem to have enjoyed the game and that's enough for me.

Oh joy, Alex is back to judging games he's never played and knows nothing about. I always love kids like this.

It's just as good as the original. The faults it has (foot missions) are the same faults as the original. The gameplay is almost identical with a couple improvements (new forms). This is a game built in every way for fans of the original NiGHTS without many changes. That's what we want, and I really don't give a shit what ignorant kids like Alex who never played the original, and reviewers who don't appreciate classic arcade style games think.

It's a good game to me, and that's all that matters to me.

Has the OP even played the first NiGHTS?

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
