you can cheat the game to make it very easy what i did is start with a mage got that ring that makes you less visable to enemys and kept sneaking up on the red eyed knight use the fireball then run away then go back and do it again and keep doing that until he dies and if you keep doing that you get pretty strong

Yeah I had to resort to that tactics. Farmed him until I got super strong, like level 22 or something, and was able to clear the level and kill Phalanx easily.

lol its a shame that trick is useless in new game plus

Really? How come? Doesn't the Thief ring work in New Game?

it works but the red eyed knight doesnt give you nearly enough souls to level up you'd have to kill him like 8 or more times (cant remember) for just one level not really worth the time but if you go to the 2nd part of the skeleton level with a bow and keep killing death you,ll get way more souls

Yeah you get over 5000 souls in a minute or something.

It's not as hard as people make it out to be, how did people ever reach that sentiment? By sucking relentlessly? It's memory dependent and challenging, but it's not ball-breaking hard.

If you play as Soldier/Royalty you will dominate this game.

This is where I fall under...lol.  No joke I really do bad at this game.  My friend on the other hand is a beast at it and has added many friends who love it by playing it.  I would love to do better but I don't do well at RPG's :(.  It's a fun game though but very fustrating for me.

It plays much more like an action game than an RPG IMO. Give it more practice, my friend sucked for the first 5 hours, but now he's cool.

Yeah I need to play it more often.  I just don't have much patiences and so I tend to get fustrated easily.

How many hours have you played it in total?

Im rather torn on this game.  On one hand the game IS rather legitimately difficult, enemies know how to kill you and being careless will end in death...but the same can be said for most games.  The thing that has me frustrated in this game is that it's not so much difficult as it is unforgiving.  the easy deaths I could handle, the cruel balance I could handle, the very tight controls I could handle.  What I cannot stand is that all it takes is one misstep and you're back to square one.  Not only this, but any experience you gained is gone and it's not likely you're gonna get it back. Also:  No checkpoints as far as I can tell.  Much as I love a challenging game, there's nothing less fun than having to do the same 25-30 mintues of gameplay two dozen times with no reward.

I know I could do this game, I didn't find it too hard, I just got frustrated with it, so I happily moved on.

A little tip. If you die when you have  A LOT of souls and your very far in the level, just quit the game as fast as you can, just go right back to the XMB and start the game again, you'll start off right before you died with all your points intact.

this game stole my soul! it was absolutely brilliant. from the awesome level designs, to the boss fights, to the first time i got invaded, to the first time i invaded someone. just brilliant all over! Wanderer all the way baby!

This game is almost too good.

It took me about 70 hours to finish it. I died a lot. It took me more than 10 hours to kill phallanx, if not more. Did I mention that I died a lot? During my first ten hours I didn't had a clue of what I was doing. I was lost, anxious, furious. Later, when I started to understand what I was supposed to do, I screw up a couple of times. When I was feeling confortable, they invaded me and were merciless with me. Then I got some guys to help me with a Dragon and call it even. Then Mass Effect 1 and 2 and other couple of games got the better of me. Then I returned to Demon's Souls being such a pussy as I was when I just started. I had to sort of learn my moves and enemies times once again. Then I got to the final boss and I couldn't believe how easy it was. Then I started new game pretty confident that this time I would show all those demons how the master was. And they tought me that wasn't me...

I loved every single piece of it.

Best surprise this gen.
