Forums - Gaming - The first game you got with any new game system.

Just what the title says. Tell us systems you got an the first game(s) you got with them, sans bundles.

I don't remember all the firsts I got with new game systems (like with the SNES and Playstation 1), so these are for those that I do remember.

NES: A gift, included Super Mario Bros 3 and Dr. Mario (in addition to the Super Mario/Duck Hunt bundle).

Nintendo 64: Super Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64.

Gamecube: Metroid Prime, Super Mario Sunshine.

Playstation 2: My brother got it, but the first game that was for me was Kingdom Hearts.

Gameboy Advance: Golden Sun

Nintendo DS: Rondo of Swords (although that one honestly was on a whim), Final Fantasy XII Revenant Wings.

Wii: Mario Party 8 and Metroid Prime 3 (since the first game was my first GC game, although this I feel is the most disappointing of the trilogy, even if not a bad game, and I would have held out for the Trilogy if I had know that was coming). My first download purchase was Phantasy Star 1.

Xbox 360: My brother had plenty of games, but the first (and so far only) game I got for myself was Saints Row, because we like the 2nd game so much (although I feel it's not as fun, but still good).

PSP: A friend gave it to me, along with a couple Poker games, but the first I got for myself was Lego Indiana Jones 2 (which was on clearance, and I am a fan of the Lego Crossover games). Also my first download purchase was Silent Hill (the first game in that series I got to play).

So what about the rest of you?

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Let's see if memory serves me:

Nes (1988):  Packed with Super Mario and Duck Hunt (first purchase months later was Mag Max--it sucked)

Gameboy (1990): Packed with Tetris (first Purchase was Super Mario Land)

Super Nes (1993):  Packed with Super Mario World/Super Mario All Stars was supposed to come free in the mail.  (Purchased Mario Kart and Street Fighter 2 a year before I even had the console).

N64 (1996):  No pack in. (First purchase was Super Mario 64 with the console).

Playstation (1996):  Packed with Battle Arena Toshinden (purchased Tomb Raider a month before I got the console--purchased Resident Evil along with the console)

Gameboy Advance (2000):  No pack in (purchased Super Mario Advance with the console)

Dreamcast (2000):  No pack in (purchased Sonic Adventure and Soul Calibur with the console)

Playstation 2 (2001):  No pack in (purchased Zone of the Enders and The Bouncer at the same time as the console)

Sega Genesis (2001):  No pack in (purchased Sonic the Hedgehog 2 with the console)

Gamecube (2001): No pack in (purchased Wave Race Blue Storm and Rogue Leader at the same time as the console)

Nintendo DS (2004):  Packed with Metroid Prime Hunters; First Hunt (purchased Feel the Magic--there wasn't much to choose from....)

Xbox 360 (2007): Packed with Call of Duty 2--barely played it (Purchased Kameo: Element of Power with the console)

Nintendo Wii (2008):  Packed with Wii Sports (Purchased Resident Evil: Wii Edition with the console)

Playstation 3 (2008):  Packed with Metal Gear Solid 4 and PAIN (purchased Uncharted about a month later.)

PSP (2009):  No pack in game.  (Purchased--and NEVER EVEN PLAYED Rainbow Six Vegas with the console).

And for the record, I was a day 1 purchaser of Mario 64 (didn't get the system until a week later--long story), the Gamecube, and the DS.  Proud moments, those were.

I gave my stepdad the money to buy my N64 the day it came out while I went to work.  He came back with a copy of Super Mario 64 after he somehow "lost" my money.  He used to gamble a lot back then so I figure he spent it.  I had to wait until my next payday to finally get the system.

Hmm.  That wasn't a long story at all!
