Forums - Sony - IGN: PS3 Piracy Could Eclipse PSP

It's really simple, Sony has already stated they can disable PS3's remotely.  Go ahead, see if they're bluffing.

If they disable PS3s completely there'll be media shistorm and insane amount of law suits. You can probably quote me on that. Disabling online is fine however, if it does state in the T&C of PSN that if any of the terms are broken then the user can lose access to PSN.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

Y'know a lot of people really don't care about trophies. And you also know that pirates can unlock trophies without playing... and y'know create a new PSN account v_v

Well, I think Sony can block the ip adress of such users for a limited time or for how long they want, so creating new PSN account would be useless.
OT: It won't be the same as the PSP for a few reasons: the PS3 was hacked just now basically with a lot of people not willing to take a risk now, there is the online part and the filesize of the games.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

yeah, because resetting your ip isn't as easy as unplugging the router

If that is the case, then ouch for Sony.

Why can't pirates be more like this?
