Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo has "no plans" to bring to The Last Story to the west

Maybe similar story(no pun) to Demon's Souls on PS3? Large quantities will end up exporting that game and it will likely get a Western release later on.

Except that Wii is region locked. Lovely.

Since when does "no plans at present" translate to "no plans at all"?

this game will release eventually, it just takes ages to translate into different languages, what they say means nothing at this point

All this problem occurs because the majority of americans don't like to (or don't) play games dubbed in japanese with subtitles in english. And the process of contracting non-japanese dubbers is very costly .  Do like Sega did with the Yakuza series.

It does sounds like bad news, but also like normal Nintendo PR, "no plans" usually means "we don't know only Nintendo Japan and maybe Reggie have a clue".

After the release of Monster Hunter Tri they know that the market is there but the cost of translating the product is high and will take time, so they need to measure the demand and the hype before they commit to it. After the release in Japan we will know more, I am still hopefull for this game not so much for Xenoblade and its a shame because I am more excited for that game than this one.

Well that is kind of true. I hate when a game has Japanese VA. That makes a game virtually unplayable due to the annoyance. (I'm not from NA though)

I reckon they just building hype. Anger the people announce it and it sells.

relax everybody and let the "real" journalists do the work

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

Screw that even, they should just go the Panzer Dragoon route and make up a language, then sub for everyone.  Problem solved.

Speaking of which, they should make Panzer Dragoon Saga II while they're at it...
