We had to endure Jimmy Wales' irritating face in all manner of strange poses and lighting conditions for several months while he casually demanded £16 million for "server costs" (not sure how much it was in dollars). That banner was on the homepage for far too long, and was pariodied pretty much everywhere. But finally, we raised the money. After a few days, Wikipedia's three coders, each apparently on a 6-figure salary, realised this and removed the banner.
Look at this:

Another banner. This time about their stupid anniversary, because apparently Wikipedia was founded in 2001 and just not used for three or four years.
Who the hell would go to a Wikipedia party?
At least it's better than the interim banner, which begged you to edit Wikipedia, because apparently several million editors and over 1000 moderators isn't enough for Mr. Wales.
