they stopped caring on the looks of the pokemon

they lost the care that went into it because they know people will still buy it or i have grown up from that childish state

I disagree with this article.

In my opinion, for the past decade pokemon has been as bad as call of duty these past few years in terms of "innovation."

The improvements the games have from each other are laughable. Don't get me wrong. Pokemon as a game is great its just that there is no difference between the versions you play ever since ruby/saphirre. They add new monsters that become increasingly less creative and more ridiculous. They add new skills though few are any different then the old ones. The only real significant improvements the games have made over the past decade is duo battles, making both physical and magical types of every element attacks, and for some people the new ev training adds a lot of playability to the game though essentially its just encourages mindless grinding.

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed and still enjoy playing my pokemon games. There is just no reason to buy the new ones though. Sadly I don't blame Game Freaks at all. Why should they care to try to make some drastic changes to freshen up the series when they can sell over 10million copies of the game. Then sell over 5mil copies of a remake of the game that just came out, and then sell over 10mil copies of the remake of one of their old games all in the span of 3 years. Innovation? The customers don't want innovation. They just want the same old thing. Though I'm sure the huge popularity of the ds has helped attract new people to the series who would not want innovation since this is their first experience with pokemon.
