8/10. The battle system is really cool, the music is an awesome mix of piano solos and prog rock, and the story is kind of vague and open-ended which is a pretty nice change of pace from the usual JRPG method of beating you over the head with the bleedingly fucking obvious. The dialogue is pretty hilarious, too, and I really enjoyed dressing up the characters (probably a little too much, actually).

Please pleeeeease can i quote this into my sig xD

Yeah i know my spelling sucks but im dysgraphic so live with it :3

8/10, the battle system was one of the most interesting ones I've ever seen and I found the characters were likable and interesting. The plot itself was kind of weird, though it was mostly told in a unique fashion similar to Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, or Wolf's Rain which is something I don't see in games a lot.

I now hate you for comparing this ball of tripe to Cowboy Bebop :(

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Don't compare this pile of horse manure to Cowboy Bebop. This is even worse than when you said Xenosaga had a bad story.

In the manner it's told it's completely valid. The story is told through a series of vignettes that have a loose background connection, just like Bebop and Champloo. And because of that it's kind of hard for me to judge it based solely on its plot because, like Bebop, it's not so much about PLOT as it is character and setting.

And I never said Xenosaga had a BAD story, it was mostly just a disappointment due to too many extraneous characters, an unlikable selfish brat for a heroine who does nothing for the storyline, a convoluted mess that was more concerned about being "deep" than coherent, and of course gobs upon gobs of overly long, overly flashy cut scenes. It was merely above average and when compared to its predecessor it is a complete waste of potential that makes me wonder what happened during development (well, except for Kato not being around obviously being the key ingredient to Xenogears' success). And this is the LAST I will talk about it

2/10, either I don't like JRPGs or that game was plain pants for me.

I mean I managed to play Lost Odyssey to disk 4, that's got to count for something, right?

Thats because Lost Odyssey puts this piece of shit to shame.

Lost Odyssey wasn't that good to me in my opinion. The only real good things about it for me was the music, Jansan and the 1000 Years of Dream stories which where one of a kind.

I like what I'm seeing in this post. I think I'm going to get the game now (after I beat Nier and TWEWY).

Kato?!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF?!!!!!!!!! Kato played a small part in Xenogears' storyline. Takahashi and his wife made most of the storyline. Also, how in the world can you be a fan Xenogears and not the Xenosaga series because of long cutscenes when Xenogears cutscenes were just as long and abundent (I mean.....fu*king hell.....the entire second disc of Xenogears is just one big ass cutscene for the most part)? Also, Xenogears' storyline was FAR more complex then Xenosagas' storyline, so if you found Xenosaga to be too "convoluted" then you shouldn't have gotten Xenogears' storyline at all either. Xenosaga's story is not as good as Xenogears' storyline that for sure, but it' still beats 98% of other jrpg storylines out there for me. It was pretty fu*king amazing in my opinion. I kinda agree with you on Shion, though, that plot twist on her in Episode 3 was out of this world. So she did have some worth in the storyline.
