I trust a handy and small selection of people on the internet when it comes to game recommendations.

The only people I'll always listen to about what games are awesome are my father, my brother, and my wife. My brother in particular is a man of excellent taste.

Reviews and sales aren't much of a consideration in comparison - reviews before sales, but I ignore scores.

9.5 is auto GOTY candidate, so reviews of course.

Bayonetta is the perfect example.

I dont use either since they can both be very biased. sales = mw2 is greatest game on earth, review = gran turismo 5 is worst sim racing game, and both of those are so untrue that its not even funny.

Well I don't trust sales at all as I deem a lot of people to buy a lot of shit when it comes to games, films, etc.

Reviews I trust more but only across a reasonable number to compare and only from certain places.

But I trust my own taste and knowledge coupled with research and developer knowledge to inform my choices.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Same here.

I trust my own interests.

I actually going nearer and nearer to sales, beacuse lets face it there have been way to many high scored games this gen that pretty much sucked and had alot of issues but since it still had great Graphics and lots of hype the games gets alot of free passes.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

My opinion. Sales doesn't equal quality. and everyone on this site knows about how I feel with the so called "professional" *COUGH*bought/fanboy/loser*COUGH* reviews.

Sales are never a good indication of the quality of the game for me personally. I read the reviews in some cases where I am on the fence about buying the game and if the reviews are likely to score less than 50, I'll avoid the game or attempt a rental later on. If I like the look of the game, and it scores more than 90 I'll buy it straight away, if I personally don't like the look of the game, I'll rent it later on in it's life cycle through my lovefilm subscription, which I get on and off, depending when they send me the "3 months for the price of 1" cards x)
