Batman: Arkham Asylum vs. Infamous

Infamous 62 49.60%

Batman:Arkham Asylum 63 50.40%

Total:125

I recently created a thread asking whether people on vgchartz preferred Infamous or Spiderman 2. Most people sided with Infamous, but I have yet another question to ask.... Infamous or Batman Arkham Asylum? Both have been called the best superhero game of this gen/ever, but there can only be one winner. Tell me which you prefer and why.

Voted for inFamous, the main reason is actually gameplay. I loved every aspect of it, Sucker Punch did a great job.

Batman AA. The gameplay was more diverse.

Infamous was great but I couldn't really play it for longer than 3 missions per session. Therefore took me quite a while until I finished it.

Batman:Arkham Asylum.

inFamous is so good too... but the Batman is even better... one of the best games I played in 2010.

Besides the fact that some aspects of infamous just seemed a bit unfinished, I really enjoyed Arkham Asylum more.

I enjoyed it even more than Uncharted 2

I am definitely going with Batman.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Infamous. I was very bored playing Batman.

But it's Batman!! for a comic book hero to be properly translated into a game?! It's freakin praise-worthy!!

Infamous is good too the combat just didn't feel as tactical but more Call of Duty style. Also Batman is a traditional superhero while Cole is uhh confused from becoming a villain or a hero. Cole is more like a dude with super powers rather than a superhero.

What I want from a game.

Gameplay > Story > Content > Graphics

Visual Style > Graphics

Smooth Camera, Intuitive Controls

Friction! When everything feels right!

inFamous for me.

Batman was awesome but it lacked the gameplay that made me love inFamous and Spider-Man 2.

Batman and it ain't even a contest. inFamous felt like a sandbox game starring a generic guy with super powers.  Batman was the perfect (and I don't use that word lightly.  I only use the word perfect to describe things that are perfect, mildly competent, and everything in between.) video game version of decades of comic book lore.  The narrative was tight, the graphics were impressive, and the package was better than anybody had any reason to expect.  I finished it multiple times whereas inFamous prompted me to quit after another "kill all the guys in the area" mission.

I've heard that inFamous got better and more gripping but I spent the whole game (I feel like I got halfway through it) waiting for something awesome to happen.  (I bought both of them the week that they came out, btw.) I look forwsrd to inFamous 2 more than any PS3 game coming out this year (except Uncharted 3) but the first game didn't do it for me at all.  I believe Sucker Punch will bring the goods this time.
