Which will sell more Lifetime: 360 or PSP?

Of course, but in that case, I could counter your argument by looking at historical trends which showed that Wii always rises phenomenally during the holidays and how it had already done so last year in the exact same situation, outselling PS360 in the process. The PS360 situation, on the other hand, is always changing -- the only reason one starts gaining on the other is because the company does something to make it happen. It isn't "natural". With no real reason for PS3 to overtake the 360 randomly right now, and no information from Sony regarding a game changer that'll give them the lead again, there is currently no reason whatsoever to believe that PS3 will reduce the gap. 3 months or so ago, when Wii was performing loserishly, there was still plenty of reason (holidays) for Wii to outdo PS360 later on. That doesn't exist with PS3 for the moment.


The moral of this story is if you predict LTD sales of a console no matter what the figures i think your moderately stupid ^^ Know if you'll excuse me im not in the mood to argue with a 13 year old at 5am ^^


I'm aware of what it sais i dont have to agree with it ^^ And i find it to be stupid as your trying to predict something with a huge number of variables. Predicting 1 years time makes scene as you can use current logic but to guess an even in lets say 4 years time is just stupid :P

Why? We might not be completely precise, and often miss completely but that doesn't mean that it's stupid or futile to do it.  The fact that we find it entertaining is more than enough reason by itself to do it, and to not make it stupid.

Now, entering a thread and calling the people in it stupid, now that is stupid. It's needlessly insulting and possibly upsetting people. If you want to talk about stupid, that's a whole other league than predicting the sales 4 years into the future.

 

 

Stupid just means to do something of un-intellectual value. You can describe 1 thing as being stupid with no regards for the intelligence of the person whom it was conceived. And though people may find it fun it often leads to start long argument between people about which console is better >_> Some people fidn it fun to dive bomb of cliffs. Doesn't make that any less stupid ^^


Prediction threads like this one practically never turn into flame wars. The ones that do are completely different.

And your analogy is quite bad. Diving off a cliff might be fun, but it's also harmful. Predicting the sales for the future is completely harmless.

You might be able to somewhat justify calling the people who predict sales stupid for doing so, but really, don't do it. The only possible outcome is you upsetting them, and you're clearly really a nice person, so you obviously don't want that.

Yh...that was kinda a joke O.o I thought it was obvious but never mind ^^ and if anyone was offended i would be incredible surprised. And im not cooling them stupid im simply stating that in an overall context the idea of predicting something out of essentially thin air is not an effective meens of creating figures. or i could just say its Stupid which saves me alot of typing :P Dont take what you read literally on the internet xD


Oh come on! The people on the Internet are living people with emotion too! You shouldn't behave any different to people on the Internet than you would face to face.

Excusing yourself with saying "it's just the Internet" is really an incredibly selfish way of doing it. You're smarter than that, don't sink that low.

I didn't say "its just the internet" lolol what i said meens something completely different. It talking about the fact that sarcasm cant be portrayed on the internet (mostly) as it is through text which is esentualy a monotone form of speaking as apose to sarcasm in speech which involves altering the tone of the voice or the length it which words are spoken as to portray a "joke". That what i mean. You have to take into account the possibility of sarcasm in the text (which there is alot of in my posts :P) Sorry if that wasn't clear to you but im not saying that its fine to hurt peoples feelings on the internet just that you should take it all with a grain of salt.

I believe the PSP will still sell a good chucnk this year,and will have it's advante for the rest of it's life. While Xbox360 will sell somewaht good this year, it will drop a lot next year.

I reckon Xbox 360 will pass the PSP in sales eventually before they both go extinct.

The OP is asking for predictions of lifetime sales of two consoles on a video-game sales discussion forum.  How exactly does that make any member posting their prediction of lifetime sales of said consoles stupid?

And fun can very often be described as stupid. liek i just said to someone elkse. many may find it "fun" to dive bomb of a cliff into the see doesn't make it any less stupid.

Hmm, the 360 should edge it out. I don't expect the PSP to move more than around 75 million or so lifetime, the 360 could go up to 80 million. It could also be a virtual tie, depends how quickly the PSP dies once PSP2 is out and also on when the next x-box arrives and how the 360 is supported at that point.

All in all, though, I think the 360 will sell more.

No, you aren't. Not even if they are 13 because it implies you think they are inferior. Flaming is using any form of insults on another member.
