Forums - Sales - GT5 to reach 5 mill in last week of 2010?

Even if it dosent get that, it will cruise past that number the following week, which is good enough for me. but i am concerned these sales are a consquence of the hoilday boost, and GT might not be able to hold those sales for the following months of the year, hopefully those concerns are unfounded!

GT4 sold around 30k per week after the it first month... so anything better than that will be success.

I can't see GT5 selling less than 30k in the next 10 weeks (well... at least January).

No, But it will be so Close!! 320k is my guess.

It could sell 250-350k, landing just short of the goal. Then it could be adjusted up.

Considering GT5 has been accused of privileging too much Japan in its car assortment, I'm quite surprised the Japanese welcomed it worse than expected, but this gen can really be unpredictable sometimes, I also expect some outsider to revolutionize again PC gaming world sooner or later in Heaven knows what genre... And as I maybe already wrote somewhere else, I hope GT5 success, providing attention to the whole genre for free, will help PC devs find funds easier to complete the next PC racing sims (arcade racers OTOH, if still liked enough by PC gamers, can enjoy the indirect boost from Mario Kart).

As in consoles GT isn't seriously challanged, PC sims pushing the envelope will challagen Kaz Ya to make the game better in the next interations, i would love to see it evolving even more.

Lifetime Totals: 1,192,177 543,902 2,901,869 4,637,948

It sold 524,431 last week, with a dropoff of 51,000. Even with a 100,000 dropoff for next week, that will be enough to cross the mark.

I'm going to say it will sell 450,000 next week, for a total of 5.09 million sales.

You don't see that big of a drop off, huh? Would be fantastic if you end up the closest!

Well, no. It's barely been dropping off 50k per week, and while it's not Christmas shopping any more, there are the Christmas to New Year stock clearance sales, so those should keep it afloat.

I think it'll reach around 5.05-5.1m.

As an example,Black Ops hasn't even dropped in the past weeks,I bet that it will drop around 40% (both versions) next week.

GT5 should hold a bit better, but I don't think it will hold that well and do 450k...I'd like to be proven wrong though :D

Hm.  It's possible, but I don't think it'll happen.  I expect a pretty big drop off post-Christmas.  Possibly below 200k, though I suspect I may be underestimating the effect of Boxing Day.

After Christmas and for the New Year, I think it could have 400k WW.

120-140k for USA and 260-280k for EMAA :)

i think its going to be very close and its either going to just make it or just fall short.

it will do it

plus i expect adjustments later when polyphony releases their numbers
