It seems The 3rd Birthday has had an underwhelming debut, Square Enix was aiming for 500k units sold. Monster Hunter Portable 3rd is a frigging beast, it will easily become the best selling third party game ever.

As (some of us) expected Donkey Kong Country: Returns shows amazing legs and sales and Ni no Nuki thanks to its price collapse it will manage to sell its first shipment.

Hardware-wise I expect Wii to double PS3 again and PSP to dominate one more week thanks to its strong software sales on the Top 10 and definitely consolidate its YTD sales leadership.

According to Chris1964 on GAF we won't have Mediacreate numbers until tomorrow :(

I think the expectations for The 3rd Birthday were too unrealistic, anything over 300k - 350k for this title is a success in my book.

MHP3 is doing insane, it's totally going to outsell DQIX.   Has DKCR outsold GT5 yet, or is that next week?

Looking at the installbase difference, MH became IMO the biggest IP in Japan. I dont think that even Pokemon can push that many systems anymore. Lets be honest, MH is the reason the PSP is the best selling system in Japan for some time now. its true, there are other pretty solid game on it there, but they all came because of MH. If Sony gets tehir act together, this success could easily translate into good PSP2 numbers in the land of the rising sun

after reading about T3B's absolutely TERRIBLE plot and rock-stupid twist ending I would say that even being in the top ten is selling it far too high. Toriyama clearly did not know what he was doing
