lol I just go to retailer sites and see what is coming out soon in my area.
As it stands right now, vgchartz does two things better than anybody else; sales info and community/forums. In terms of info/previews I usually go to Ign first, then gamespot, then finally I go to vgchartz. Ign right now I think is the best news venue, while gamespot has good demos with the developers. After I see this info I go straight to vgchartz(gamrconnect to be specific) to see if it has been discussed/posted. Because of the community I spend much more time here than any other site.
I'm excited to see what changes are ahead. Most of all I want a keyword thread search on gamrconnect 2.0!
Mostly IGN I guess. I use it for release dates, video previews/reviews and info.
VGC I use for sales and forums mostly, I'm not a huge fan of the reviews.
NeoGAF if the game is new, since someone(s) there have already sifted through all the available information for me, some of which is in different language(s), and presented it all in one spot. As an added bonus, other users tend to dump new information there too, so I never need to bother looking myself. In short, it's incredibly convenient. And yet despite other users' dumb comments, it's still less obnoxious than the editorials on blog sites...
Vgchartz, Kotaku, and Joystiq. Others sometimes are google searches / random forums.
Everyone needs to play Lost Odyssey! Any opposition to this and I will have to just say, "If it's a fight you want, you got it!"
I use VGC first for pretty much everything. It's convenient. When I do go to other places, it's almost always Google first, then IGN/GameTrailers. IGN has some interesting stuff to read, and GameTrailers... has great trailers. I like their videos.
VGC may not be the first to get news, but chances are I'll see something in the forums or on gamrfeed about it pretty fast, and that's good enough for me. About the database; I loved the database in 4.0. That one was fantastic. This one is not quite as good, though it sounds like it'll be much improved once the new updates hit. I typically look at sales for games now, rather than the consoles, so I spend time looking at the database for sales. I stay sometimes for the reviews and such things. (Can't wait for the cheats/hints/guides section to come back. I still have a lot of stuff I was working on for that).
EDIT: I also go to GameFAQS for any guide. That's my first place to go. They have a very impressive collection of guides and walkthroughs.
It depends a bit. I get RSS feeds from both Playstation blogs, so that can be one of the first places I see the news of any newly announced games, and is generally high in quality. Other than that, there's a good chance I see the news on the gamrConnect forums, and I usually surf to IGN, Eurogamer, VG247, CVG, Joystiq and Kotaku for more info or first-look previews.
For trailers, I always go to YouTube. I rarely visit GameTrailers, but I watch their reviews from time to time, if it's a game I'm not all fired up about. I don't want to see too much of a game if I'm really interested, with spoilers or interesting info and stuff like that.
If it's an older game, gamrReview is a great place for some good info, and is one of my first choices for visiting. Wikipedia and YouTube come afterwards, maybe followed by a Google search or two.
And looking forward to the new changes.
