Forums - Sales - Super Smash Bros Brawl surpasss 10M!

Nintendo doesn't drop the market price because retailers would not equally reduce their sticker price.  The games still sell to well.  Why should Nintendo reduce their prodfit if the retailer isn't going to reduce the price accordingly and instead would take up all the profit (they do that with used games already).

It's also why the Wii and DS don't really get price drops.  Nintendo could cut their market price but the retailers would keep it at the same high level.

Right, and with a little luck in 2011 800k copies sold? am I being too optimistic here ? lol It's such a great game tho. It deserves to be there.

So glad this game acheived this. My favorite fighting game ever, besting even the SNES Street Fighter's on my personal list. My most played game this gen, most anticipated game, and the only fighting game to acheive this. Awesome.

Best of the Smash Bros. games, for me its

1) Brawl

2)N64

3)Melee

Melee was too unbalanced. Brawl has their character balancing issues also, but its not as severe, and the emphasis on defense is welcome. Melee was just an offensive machine.

But hey, to each is own. Bottom line, this games in a league of its own as far as fighting games go in regards to sales.

Cheers.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

It's going to sell just a bit less than 800,000 in 2010. At first sight, I'd say there's very little chance of it selling 800,000 in 2011. However, it sold more in October than it did in February, so it doesn't seem very likely to drop large amounts in the future. It looks to have stabilised nicely in the "5-15k" range.

It's going to make 10 million, either in early 2012 or in late 2011.

I really wish that they got the online portion of this game working better but besides for that, it is a great game that deserves huge sales.

Congrats SSBB.
