Pokemon is actually owned by a group called The Pokemon Company, but the amount of leverage Nintendo has over The Pokemon Company (because they, you know, created it) is such that it would never leave Nintendo's control. Not sure if Nintendo downright owns The Pokemon Company, even if The Pokemon Company has a measure of autonomy

Nintendo owns Pokemon and created the Pokemon company to manage the licence once the worldwide success came , and the franchise goes far beyond videogames. Making a difference between Nintendo and Pokemon Company makes little sense.

I can re-assure you Nintendo did not liscense any division of Sony with Pokemon. Nintendo liscensed it to 4Kids and Warner Bros before they brought alot of it in house. Nintendo also brought the TCG in house as well. Nintendo has made alot of moves to leave Pokemon Company with more control over the franchise.

So when Nintendo wants everything in house or done with Pokemon Companies direct involvement what are the chances that any division of Sony would get the liscense? As some pointed out Sony Pictures and SCE don't always work together they are two seperate entities essentially. However while that is true Nintendo on the other hand would never work with any division of Sony especially when handling one of their most valued franchises.

Lastly Wikipedia is very unreliable. Though it is a good source of information, and policed fairly well. It is still user generated info and false info inevitably makes it in. I myself contributed info and sometimes when I made a mistake Wikipedia corrected it within days. However during those days that false information was out their for everyone to see. Also the fact that the info has disapeared and re-appeared suggest to me that moderators are taking it down purposely.

It isnt impossible for sony to do this. Remember its only sony computer entertainment that are rivals with nintendo. Hense you can find sony movies on the Xbox live market place. Maybe nintendo want to make a realy high budget pokemon film but think it would be best an experienced film company did it.
