Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Arc Rise Fantasia is a very underrated Wii JRPG. My review.

The title is ok but it has one of the worst voice dub EVER!

I'm gonna try it out.

Your review made me consider buying this game and though I have just started it, it seems it was a good thing I followed your advise.

Its a good game. I'm actually on a second playthrough myself. Making sure to overpower myself this time.

nice review, well done indeed.  :)

I agree completely with your review. Its definately not the best... but I enjoyed it far more than I expected it to. At first I was like "meh. generic storyline is generic." But then the plot twists came and I was like "Whoa. I like this game now."

Most reviews complain about the voices. Id get really annoyed at the reviewers. Even my favorite reviewer concentrated on the voices and didnt inform the viewers about the fun little things like outfits, arenas, optional bosses, casino, ect. And I totally raged. Yes, Its not Tales or Persona quality, but it isnt Chaos Wars quality either (most compare Arc Rise to Chaos Wars. I dont get it.) Only ones I found ear twisting annoying were Adeles and Nikos (And Marias, but shes only a minor character...) while I liked most of the main cast voices alot (Alf, Serge, and Leslies voices are my fave. And although people hate on Rhyfias, I think her voice is cute in a oblivious way.)

I also found that Id like certain characters and hate certain characters at first (Loved Alf and Adele, hated Weiss ) but then at the end my view would be a complete opposite (near the end I hated Alfs guts and loved Weiss to death) And some characters I kept changing my opinion on! (I like Adele. Okay, now I hate her. Okay. I like you again)

I got it day one, got to the Holy Tower of Zeifelt, rage quit for maybe two weeks. Picked it up again after eyeing it a little. Played it to the end and loved the ride.

All in all it turned out to be a surprising game.

Its very nice reading a review of the game that focuses on informing whats good and what isnt good. Saying whether its a game to buy or not. I applaud you.

I was gonna put something here, but then I got amnesia. At least that means my chances to be a main character is up.

I agree , probably the most enjoyable jrpg on the wii .  Not that there are many outside of japan. Quite lenghty too , took me over 100 hours. The story is amateur rubbish like most jrpg's the voice acting bordering on pathetic but who cares when its fun, the tons of weapon combinations in particular. I recomended this game a couple months ago on this forum and its good that its getting some attention especially when most publishers don't bother releasing jrpg outside of japan.

I found it really fun myself. I got it on day one. Ive played through it 1 1/2 times. 1/2 because so many other games I wanted came out. Its not the best, but its nowhere near the worst JRPG ive played.  Thats kind of what I was expecting from it, so I was pleased. I just wish TLS and Xeno would hurry up and come over. Oh, and of course for DQ10 to come out. II really have the urge to replay the older DQ games. I wish they would come out with a bundle or two on the Wii. In their orginal forms that is.
