It's awesome to watch.
I find it interesting, and I enjoy debates and predictions over the future. I tend to stay away from debating religion and politics, mainly because so many people get offended if someone's views differ from theirs, although some gamers are equally passionate and emotional.

Pretty much this.
Well, I love to feel that what I've chosen is "better" in some way.
And I like to see people who don't like the numbers crying, ;D.

You don't need sales to get that feeling. If you chose Nintendo, then what you have is better by default. |
Well, of course. Sales just add to the glory, :D.

Manga sales, exports imports, and those you mentioned ... The list goes on! :P

I don't care too much about hardware other than to see the comparison between the HD consoles and the Wii every now and then. I mostly care about software sales to see if the little games I love get the sales I feel they deserve. Love watching the weekly sales of stuff like Atelier Rorona and Disgaea 3 (and soon 4). Also seeing how multiplat software compares between platforms is interesting.
...
I care more about game sales than hardware sales; and its really just for interest sake to see how the games I like have/are sold/selling
Some of the threads here are excessive when it comes to sales. Especially weekly sales which no one should really care about. I also find the reactions extremely funny and hard to take seriously. Don't get me started on Million sellers threads...
