Wasn't it Wikipedia?

Above: still the best game of the year.
Guys , guys. You don't have news channels in the U.S. Read a newspaper (you actually have some good ones over there, on both sides of the limited political spectrum of the US), or, if you have to watch TV, get your news from BBC World.

I have no Idea if President Obama is more knowledgeable then palin. He didn't have more experience. And you don't find the bold part troubling? The media was like huge snow plows pushing all the negative info out of the way so President Obama can drive his limo up to the white house. And why don't you have as much passion for the other news outlets? It's short sighted and misses the big picture This is my political diagram: |
To be fair, the media did originally go after Obama as bad as they did Palin... however then George Stephanopolis basically spent an entire hour and a half of a democratic primary debate on Hilary Clinton talking points about Obama's sketchy past. (Reverend Wright, Ayers etc.) and the reaction was so negative the press got scared and treated him with kid gloves... up until about 6 weeks before the Republicans swooped in, and even then I wouldn't say they'd taken off the training wheels.
It's Bush after 9/11 all over again... but without the backlash that swung way to far the other way.

No, Juan Williams doesn't make you balanced. But between Juan Williams, Kirsten Powers, Alan Colmes, Susan Estrich, Bob Beckel, Geraldine Ferraro, Alicia Menendez, Ellis Henican, et al, Fox is easily more balanced than either CNN (whose idea of a conservative is Kathleen Parker) or MSNBC (whose idea of a conservative is probably Dennis Kucinich). By all means, hold everyone accountable. But all complaints about how shitty the media in general, and cable news in particular, is seem to start and end with Fox News. Granted, they are the ratings leader by lightyears, but no one seriously thinks that's why they're the whipping boy. Nor are they especially bad as far as cable news goes. It's because and only because they dare to lean the other way. |
Hey, MSNBC is the one with Joe Scarbourgh... I like Joe Scarbourgh... granted he's actually more a moderate then anything... but still.

Yeah. They have Pat Buchanan, too. One of them rips into his own party more often than he does the Democrats (a la Kathleen Parker), and the other is... a bit off his nut. It's not hard to see why they're there.

Yeah, i'm not disagreeing really. Just felt the need to stick up for Joe Scarborugh I swear, based on the stuff I read and hear he's the only person who I think is sane in the whole of news Media Washington... and even then I don't agree with him half the time.
Poor Keith Olberman... way back when it first started, Countdown was good, it was only minory biased and I could watch it. Now it's just cringe worthy to where hearing his voice annoys me. He got that same disease that Glenn Beck did where he went from slightly to one side moderate, to... insanely parnoid freak of nature.
I only pray it's for the money, and that he dosen't actually believe a fourth of the stuff he says.

In Beck's case, I reckon a lot of it is schtick. The tone of his TV show is all super apocalyptic, but he breaks characters when he's on other shows. If it's not a put-on, he seems mildly schizophrenic.
I dunno about Olbermann. He seems like he really could have that much of a stick up his ass, and he works at a place that has absolutely no intellectual or ideological diversity. Peer pressure could have pushed him over the edge.

I also like how everbody is jumping into the thread with preconceived notions without even bothering to look at the study and realize what a farse it is.
This is actually the kind of stuff that makes it so news orginizations can mislead you in the first place.
That's why I try to never trust a report until I can see and study the underlying methods first.
