But...but! She doesn't have a scarf! Wait a minute...

How exactly did it bomb? |
Bomb?? Its a bit lower than expected in America, but the rest of the world it is selling great. Also, I've seen that Kevin Butler GT5 ad quite a bit here in Michigan.

You're wrong. GT5 adjusted UP 100k in EMEAA first week. The other is right. PS3 adjusted DOWN 40k in America last week. |
How do you guys always know how much it was adjusted? Is there a way to see the old data and compare to the adjusted one?

Above: still the best game of the year.

The PS3 wasn't a runaway success, infact it was very nearly a disaster, despite being the most hyped of the 3 consoles. That's the point. |
PS3 was hyped, but a $600 console will turn most anyone away to a $250 console instead. And personally, do believe that the Wii was more hyped than the PS3. We just have to agree to disagree.
So even with all the little adjustments here and there VGC still has the PS3 US 130k(732K NA, 659K US) above NPD figures.
Now that we have the NPD number for America we can probably expect the 360 number to be adjusted up to 500-550. With the success of kinect it should be closer to a 1:1 ratio with the wii. The only thing holding it back will be supply. As the source pointed out earlier there are only so many kinects allocated to the US and they are quickly running out. Nintendo has done a great job of bundling their product to make it as attractive possible this christmas. And Sony has been lost in the shuffle; with lower prices on Blu Ray players and competing consoles We can expect this to be a down holiday year for the PS3 in america but greater market penetration in Europe, Asia, and Middle East, should help compensate.
All in all Vgchartz is doing a great job with numbers even with all the new periphals adding new dynamics to the market place. Great work guys.

I compara with the last WW thread in the forum.
Last week numbers: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=120614
And some people post the total sales too in theses threads.
Now the adjusted ones are in VGC: http://www.vgchartz.com/weekly.php?date=40517
I bookmarked somes... but I can see just week a week adjustments.

My article is a good place to start, as I have totals for the year before adjustments each week.
Dear North Americans,
Mickey loves you, and so do I.

What Hiroko says is generally true. |
No it's not. It's funny where this comment keeps coming from as well. The correlation is there and anyone can see it. Gaming taste is preference. What's ridiculous is how some people think there taste actually matter more than others.
