If economic globalisation is inevitable, it should primarily serve humanity rather than the interests of trans-national corporations.

The only social responsibility of a company should be to deliver a profit to its shareholders.

Governments should penalise businesses that mislead the public.

What's good for the most successful corporations is always, ultimately, good for all of us.

How can any individual that does not have a large stake in such corporations choose the side of the corporations and businesses in these questions?

These are things I can't imagine political parties would debate about and that people vote for.

It's actually pretty easy for two of em.

1)Should gloablization benefit people more then corporations?  Yes sure.

2) The only responsibility corporations should have is to make money?   Again, yes.  It's up to the people to stop coporations either through not buying or through forcing government legislation.

Do people care more about enviromental standards or cheap sneakers... it's up to the people.  The quality of coproation is directly related to the quality of it's consumers.

3)  Goverments should penalize comapnies that mislead the public.  Well of course they should.

4) What is good for the most successful corporations is ultimatley good for all of us.   95% of the time true, they spur economic growth which leads to more jobs for more people and more wealth and everybody living a better life.

It's just a matter of not having the myopic view that

So, my question is this:

Why does this site have such an enormous bias towards socialism and liberalism? It's not bad; I'm just interested. Perhaps a lower average wage? Higher levels of education? What makes somebody more left-wing and liberal?

The test is just wrong.

The questions are skewing people to the Left Liberterian side when most sane people should fall in the area where Europe is. Being in favor of the welfare state puts you immidiatly on the Communist side.

That's what i've been saying, too. The kinds of social freedoms they ask about are the kinds that leftists generally favor. If they had asked about the right to bear arms or the right to get hammered drunk? I might look a good deal more top than bottom

From what I've seen of the political figures on the compass, most  politicans tend to be top-right, especially Americans:

In Britain's case, perhaps there are just as many Top Left, though both of our main parties and the largest minor parties (excluding the SNP and Lib Dems) are top right:

Very simple:

Age.

The site is certainly skewed with younger people. That has an effect on ideological views, which tend to make a person more radical, and out of step with current society. As one ages, they become more pragmatic, and shift to more conservative views.

SamuelRSmith and Rath would be examples of it. Sam went from being lower-left quadrant to lower-right and Rath used to be the most extreme lower-left person of anyone on VGC...He's still close to that area, but he's shifted about 2pts in favor of conservatism.

I've done this same test at a gun owners website (ar15.com). You'd be surprised what they all scored

I actually disagreed with this one. So shoot me.

The government has no business punishing a corporation for anything other than breaking the law.

Right. Thus you should make misleading the public a crime (and it pretty much already is. False advertising is actionable and misleading the shareholders is a criminal statute of some sort)

Well, that and Videogames are an inherently left wing media... like Comic Books.
