The EU is all right, and mostly top:

So, my question is this:

Why does this site have such an enormous bias towards socialism and liberalism? It's not bad; I'm just interested. Perhaps a lower average wage? Higher levels of education? What makes somebody more left-wing and liberal?

The test is just wrong.

The questions are skewing people to the Left Liberterian side when most sane people should fall in the area where Europe is. Being in favor of the welfare state puts you immidiatly on the Communist side.

the test isnt wrong, I would put all those nations pretty much where they are, they are all becoming (if they arent already) authoritarian socially and neo-liberal economically.

I havae a superb article somewhere that explains this and examines the trend toward what the author called "Capitalist Dictatorship", essentially it postulates that the intrests of the super rich and big bussiness include the forced destruction of any kind of dissent from there agenda, its really good, but its buried somewhere on my PC as I reccently got a new OS

Homer, this test is completely screwed. No one can tell with a straight face that the prime minister of Spain is a right wing guy, but this test tells you so. The test is made to provide left-libertarian results mostly, but the graphs of countries and politicians are completely untrue.

its pretty much spot on for the UK, France, Germany and Italy though...

That's your point of view. Coming from someone in the far left wing-libertarian, it's natural to see them as hard right wing, authoritarian.

A very small minority, if you follow that chart based on electoral results.

If economic globalisation is inevitable, it should primarily serve humanity rather than the interests of trans-national corporations.

The only social responsibility of a company should be to deliver a profit to its shareholders.

Governments should penalise businesses that mislead the public.

What's good for the most successful corporations is always, ultimately, good for all of us.

How can any individual that does not have a large stake in such corporations choose the side of the corporations and businesses in these questions?

These are things I can't imagine political parties would debate about and that people vote for.

Economic Left/Right: 0.62
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 1.90

Not the best test ever, but anyways... moderate, reasonable economic views and leaning a little towards authoritarism, maybe due to my top 1% IQ leading to a different view on what's wrong and right to you all...
