I think Stinger is talking about all of those games in their most recent PS3 ad. You know, the ones that are coming out 'soon'. Those are infinitely more fun than anything yet on the market.

In all seriousness, I've realized that I'm almost certainly going to choose a PS3 over a 360, although I've been hoping for a PS3 that could also play PS2 games and simultaneously cost less than $400.

This was so funny, that i had to quote this. :) I'm not bashing you or anything like that, it's just that you are still so young. You see, even that Wii is the most modern console at the moment (or would post-modern be better word?), it offers the most old-school experience in the most modern way. And then there's Virtual Console, for real old-school experience, in real old-school way. @le_patriote&Outlaw: About parents buying consoles for their kids, some buy something instead, if they can't find what kids wanted, although most don't buy. Some buy console for their kids, without kids even asking. And then there's the other relatives, who buy consoles for familys kids, and who don't understand the importance of having a specific console.

Old school is such a misnomer... especially considering how young a lot of the 360/PS3 fanbase seems to be.

You wii guys shouldnt even have an opinion on the situation. You dont own a ps3 to say if it sucks and the wii is better.

So attacking that man makes you guys look like fanboys that think the wii is GOD.

Leo-J, I'll thank the 15-year-old gaming novice here to spare us his naive perception of the "truth". Also, your claim of people not owning Ps3 is not only unsubstantiated but to use it as a means of not only condeming their opinions but defending what is clearly joke marketing on the part of Sony is the greater error here.

On Topic though, Sony is always good for a laugh.

True to form though certain members are more than ready to lap up Sony's pretencious boasts like a dog at his water dish.

He's happy that the Wii is selling out? Maybe he's one of the scalpers making a profit from selling them on Ebay.

I own an XBox 360, have a gaming PC, owned a Gamecube, Dreamcast and PS2 why is my opinion invalid? Why does owning a Wii make my opinion of the PS3 wrong after I've played videogames for over 23 years?

I can understand the idea that you can't judge it until you've tried it, but I have played the PS3 and it is no different from the XBox 360 when it comes to games; you can argue about the graphics if you want, but there is no core gameplay that has (or will) be produced on the PS3 that can not be replicated on the XBox 360.

Wii flogging the PS3 globally (both hardware & software) is probably keeping Ninty execs warm at night :)

By the end of the year, the Wii will have a lead over the PS3 in excess of 10m units. This after 12 months. Wait till 2008 hits - and "excess" sales dry up after Xmas.
