Harry Potter VS Star Wars! Which series is better?

Harry potter 126 46.49%

Star wars 145 53.51%

Total:271

when you say series there are books and there are movies.  I've enjoyed more star wars movies than I enjoyed harry potter movies.  Yet I've enjoyed the harry potter series more than the star wars books.  I stoped reading a little after they killed off Anakin Solo.  So although I might not be as into Harry Potter an I was into Star Wars, I never got to a point where I would stop seeing the movies of Harry Potter while I stopped the books of Star Wars and didn't see the last movie either.  How was the clone wars anyway?

Harry Potter has an amusement park unlike the LotR.

It does have an amusement park, have you heard of New Zealand?

I really, truly, honestly, cannot believe so many people would pick Harry Potter over Star Wars.  Though I guess that's down to there being a lot of young members of VGC, who would've grown up with HP rather than (the proper) SW.  Even then, picking what are pretty ordinary films over some of the greatest movies(and the greatest toys - destructible speeder bikes, and AT-ATs with moving laser cannons ftw!) ever made...mind blowing.

Seriously, if someone never read the HP books and liked the movie they would fell in love with the books. That's how much superior they are.

To be realist all HP movies are pale copies of the books with unforgivables changes, bad actors and scene cut.

Voldemort is like the worst villain ever for a movie , he just looks like an alien, and he is not impressive at all nor majestuous , he just looks like a stupid alien.

As a movie the HPs are either  OK, mediocre or just plain bad. The 1, 5 and 3 are bad, the 6 is horrible, the 2 and the 3 are average-ok and the last one is quite good, despite being far below the book.

You are way way too harsh. The movies are awesome.

he's righ the movies are pretty bad, they are watchable but not good witht he exception of maybe of some 2 or 3, compare to the books hp movies are pretty bad adapted ,

not anywhere near LotR greatness by peter jackson

Let me make one thing clear. I HATE Star Wars I wish it never existed. However, I love Episode 4 and 5 and to a lesser extent 3. The rest of Star Wars and I'm including everything Eps 1,2,6, the books, the games (other kotor), the tv shows all suck! They are terrible. Still as a series of films I have to say Star Wars> Harry Potter.

Harry Potter bookwise is simply phenomenal (except OOTP). Film wise SS, CoS, and PoA were great with PoA being the high point. GoF tapered off a bit and then OOTP and HBP just died on the screen due to bad directing. Though DH part 1 gave me hope that the films will end on a high note.

SW Ep 5> SW Ep 4> HP PoA> HP CoS> SW Ep 3> HP SS> SW Ep 6> HP Gof> HP OOTP> HP HBP>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Anything else related to Star Wars

Lets see. For one. Star Wars is not science fiction, it's fantasy in outer space.

I think Star Wars Episode 4 and 5 is better than any harry potter movie. Episode 5 being by a significant margin. Though I do like Episode 1 as well

I think all of the harry potter movies are better than all of the other star wars other than SW eps 4 and 5. I find the harry potter movies much more consistent. And I enjoy them all a lot.

They're not as enjoyable as the book. But they are in my opinion good adaptions and pretty much as I could of hoped for, better than a lot of movies that come out with similar qualities.

And for that, I enjoy the harry potter movies as a whole over star wars.

i would vote neither are the greatest movies ever made personally.

Now you are just hating on the series.

Seriously have you seen your own posts on the prequels? Its not normal to hate anything like that.

You should be the last person accusing someone of "hating on" something.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

I am not hating on the séries.

I told you that I liked the HP books very much. The movies are just poor adaptations and are a failure in term of quality. I gave you exemple. Everybody but Harry and Dumbledore fear him. His film character is an absolute failure. He looks like a alien monster, with a stupiud voice and stupid manners.

They also left out so much that it's ridiculous. All their change are always for the worst. If you don't read the books, you miss 50% of Harry Potter, at least.

No they simply are not.

They are simplistic adaptation of great books. They are at best  average blockbusters made to cash in on the licence. That's all. And most of them are just bad.

Star Wars. The worst of the Star Wars movies (Phantom Menace) is about on par with most of the Harry Potter movies (excluding Chamber of Secrets, and maybe Azkaban, both of which were pretty good).

But, come on. You're setting a book-cash-in against one of the most beloved film franchises of all time. Against Episodes 4 and 5, which are seen as classics of cinema. Against Episode 6, which is an excellent film. Against Episode 3 with its spectacular effects. Against Episodes 1 and 2...which came in a nice box?

What are you talking about Azkaban is the best of the series. It's better than episode 3 and the rest of the prequels. And is up there with episode 4.

Azkaban was amazing, best harry potter hands down. I agree that order of the phoenix was disjointed. However i was never into star wars at all. Harry potter for me
