When did I say PS3 is undertracked? Only GT5 unless I typed something that I don't remember

Good sales. Can't wait for Americas Black Friday Sales to see a big increase. Especially GOW3 considering it's (much) bigger in America.
I expected more for GT5 but it's good.

What are the unbundled Forza sales then? |
Look at the Forza 2 sales graph. There is a massive spike (roughly 1.8M) in NA due to a christmas time bundle in NA where most 360's came with Forza 2.
Forza 2 was also released onto a bigger userbase and had much more hype than Forza 1. The Forza 2 bundle got people who wouldn't normally buy a racing game into racing games (Forza 2 is a very good game, much better than Forza 3 in my opinion). This is where Forza 3 has got its sales. Not from European GT fans moving to 360. This is clear from GT5 first week sales in Europe.

| *Sound Of Rain said: Someone please answer this question I have...Why does the PS3 have to be undertracked every single week? People post this nearly every single week and I was just curious as to why? Also as for this thread...why is GT5 undertracked? Its a games 1st week sales like any other game so what makes this one different? Don't even say its because its a big game because so were many Wii and 360 games. |
Ok.
First the PS3 have to be undertacked in EMEAA because there are a lot of contries VGC doesn't cover... and the last years prove that PS3 receive massive adjusments from time to time.
But like the lastadjusment is recent I believe PS3 was well tracked here.
Now GT5... official numbers.
UK: 265-275k
Spain: 92k
Italy: over 100k
Finland: over 20k (day one)
India: over 20k
TOTAL: ~500k
So 670k to VGC numbers... now guesses.
France and Germany are the main land for GT sales and both bigger than Italy and UK... but I'm conservative so...
France: ~200k
Germany: ~200k
270k to VGC numbers for all the others countries.
Australia, Portugual, others EU, Asia, Mid-East... all the rest of the world except America and Japan.
Edit - There are the 1 million for 2 days said by VGC before... so just 150k in the others 2 days???
Kinect adventures is doing great keeping above 200,000 units. Wonder what NA sales for Kinect Adventures will be? I'm going with atleast over 500,000 units in NA.
I think kinect adventures will hit 812,673 units.

Also just noticed GT5 has falled to 20 on amazon chart.... |
well the 1.8 million in 2 days thing is confusing. vgchartz stated 55% of that is emeaa so 1.00 million. meaning it only sold 150k in the next two days to reach its emeaa launch numbers(4 days of sales)
hope i explained that well enough. something seems off. either the 1.8 million 2 days sales or these numbers. one of them is wrong.
| yo_john117 said: GT5 selling great and it boosted the PS3 by about 100k too! KINECT is holding pretty steady whilst Halo Reach continues to sell way less then what Halo 3 did in the same time period. |
What is that in your sig?
@ tombi and Seece
It's also worth noting that Forza 2 is actually overtracked here by about 500k units... If you're having a sales conversation.

This thread has turned into another overtrack/undertrack craziness. Some of us have been here long enough to know these numbers will 100% change, it happens every year. It is very difficult to really estimates numbers around these times as there so much going on. There will be adjustments everwhere, we just have deal with it.
So far every console is doing well, GT5 a little lower than i expected, wii doing what wii does during the holidays. And it seems Kinect is selling software unlike Move although the games are really bad though.

Ok cheers, i missed that. It is a very fair point.
I would hazard a guess then that maybe the preview was wrong. That is just preliminary data after all. As i mentioned in the other post it happened with Japan too. Source said over 500k but it did almost 100k less then that. I guess only ioi can say if it was wrong or not.
