so hell! the 2,5 million kinect are shipped? sold to customers? if so, haw MS knows that...

2.5m shipped.

But like the sales is huge now the real sold numbers are near theses 2.5m.

sorry but it's sold not shipped

Unless the whole retail was reporting sales to Microsoft (not impossible but improbable) the only numbers they have are "sold to retail".

Nintendo is the only company of the big three who has a tracking system company and only releases its numbers on fiscal quartil.

Its the same as last time, MS CONFIRMED ITS NOT SOLD TO RETAIL, but SOLD TO CONSUMERS. Either you are doing this just to downplay the numbers and get a rise out of people (they have a name for those people), or you are just daft.

Where? The article is not clear for me.

Article says:

"we are on pace to reach our forecast of 5 million units sold to consumers this holiday.”

http://twitter.com/aarongreenberg/status/9382554499031040 - Aaron Greenberg confirmation

What? That is a estimation for end of year... read the article again.

And Twitter? People lies in twitter... in official reports not.

PR people like Aaron Greenberg cannot lie in any form of public communication.  That includes Twitter.  Anything he says will be scrutinized.

That isn't an ESTIMATE, it's a GOAL.  One they are already half way to according to their own report. 1 million sold to consumers in 10 days, 2.5 million in 25 days thanks to Black Friday.

Seriously you guys think NPD, GFK and Media Create can track sale numbers but MS can't? MS pays all of these companies money to track these sales.  They could easily call them up and ask how kinect is selling, its not that difficult.

http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2010/nov10/11-29msxboxblackfridaymopr.mspx

"Kinect is now available at more than 60,000 retailers in 38 countries"

Do you even read the articles ever?

38 countries and 60,000 retailers would give anyone a hard time compiling data and the closest anyone can get would be estimates... unless you used hard numbers like shipped.

Duh!! All video game sell through numbers are estimates, npd, gfk, media create, vgchartz. NOBODY could possibly know ho many have sold through completly. We have always used estimates to measure sell through numbers.

And thats why MS numbers aren't to be trusted in this case, they are a guess, where Sony's are fact

:|

I don't even know what to say, your extreme bias must be killing your brain cells.

You're more biased then me, MS doesn't have a tracking system you are just assuming they magical know, how is that better? Or do you think they hired people to make 60,000 phone calls, and every single retail releases their numbers?

shipment but still great numbers  Gongrats sony

Remind me again who said xbox 360 was within industry standards? I know there were a few official statements about it

You guys think Nintendo can do it (a very small company in comparison to MS and Sony), but MS can't?  Obviously they can.

I don't see why you guys are doubting it so much.  It's like you personally can't accept the fact that Kinect is selling so well for some reason.

Yes, nintendo can but MS and Sony cant. Nintendo set a system up for themselves.

All you said is they have a serial number/bar code thing.  All Xbox 360's, Kinects, etc. have the same thing.  Are you saying MS couldn't have initialized something themselves in the wake of NPD's changing terms?

Also, any proof to this Nintendo operated personal tracking service for sold to consumers numbers?

How do you know MS does not have their own tracking system like Nintendo? How do you think MS tracks their Windows and Office sales?
The fact that you think they have to call every retail outlet tells me a lot about your intelligence.

They could of but there is no evidence they did, and something like that there should be evidence, where you are just taking MS at their word (where does it say it's sold to consumers anyways?) despite the "xbox 360 is well within industry standards" while it's failrate was 68%

good one, made me laugh

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
