“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Totally and didn't you get the memo?
F1 2010 will kill GT5 sales too!!!!
lol
Just waiting for that PS Vita to come out so I can play some full featured games on the go with that beautiful screen and control scheme...

I doubt the average customer (in GT5's case) follows gaming sites. VGChartz forums != all gamers.
If it comes just before Black Friday then first week sales could be epic.

If the release its in that date they made a HUGE mistake not confirming it last week to stop some players from cancelling their preorder, or spending their money in Call of Duty or something like that.
Also they could use the advertisement as the average people doesn't know about the possible release date, and are planing their Black Friday buys around the titles they actually KNOW are available.

The internet audience is only a part of the overall audience. The difference between a good selling game and a blockbuster selling game is the people who don't visit gaming sites or read gaming magazines. Their only exposure will be traditional advertising and store displays.
Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.
