No. Fallout 3 only got an 8.3 and it was the best game of 2008 so best game of 2010 I'd expect maybe an 8.1 from GT5.

-_-
My guess is a score somewhere near a 9.5 from most sites as long as they deliver on their promises...Anything about the release date and all that jazz shouldn't matter as it's a review of the game, not the non-whipping monkey tactics of the developer....And if they deliver on the game, then anyone who complained about PD's slowness probably wouldn't be complaining anymore...because the game has had so much time to perfect itself, that we should all be pretty happy that buy it, lol....if not, that's the last GT for me from them...And they best try a different developer for their next one or bring them in-house and watch their schedules closely to deliver time/game ratio that is acceptable.
Just waiting for that PS Vita to come out so I can play some full featured games on the go with that beautiful screen and control scheme...

This, I agree with wholeheartedly. A score over 9, for me, is a game that would stand the test of time. Over 9.5, for me, means if I were on a deserted island with power, that one game could keep me happy.
Unfortunately, the site doesn't quite agree with me on the other thing I wish video game reviews would do. The average of 0 and 10 is 5, thus an average game should get a 5, not a 7-8. Think about it for games- what's the difference between a 3.0 and 2.5 on a 10-point scale? Both would be called absolute shit.

That comes down to your own definition of average imo. To me I expect every game to be fun and functional if those two criteria are met the game is average-good to me which would be a 7. If the game isn't all that fun or all that functional that is when you dip into the mediocre to abysmal category which is 5 and below.

Please Watch/Share this video so it gets shown in Hollywood.
Racing game which potentially has the most quality/quantity ever should NOT get less than any other racing game VGS has ever rated atleast. :)
No it wont.
It could be a 10/10 game.
But for some reason this site considers itself above giving a 10/10.
The arguments range from no game can ever be perfect - to the review system is broken.
Either way I would hope that mentality will eventually change.
This game will be perfect concerning the graphics, perfect concerning the features, perfect concerning the content, perfect for the presentation (check the leaked videos) seems good for the gameplay, seems good for the fun, seems perfect for the sounds effect of the cars, but some songs sounds annoying lol, so all that's left is the lasting appeal and I know it'll be perfect, it'll take dozens of hours to finish the game and yet you'll want to play it again. GT power. (This comment is coming from a fanboy, it may be biased =P)

No, and if a game even does, say goodbye to credibility. 10.0/10.0, while not perfect, is too close to perfection and there is no such thing as a perfect game. Now there are some sites that give 10.0s and 100s but that doesn't mean this one should, too. Besides, I feel it wouldn't be consitent with the other reviews.
I'm not sure there can even be a game worth 9.9.
Anyway, no, I don't think so.
People saying there is no such thing as a perfect game should look into Tetris. Tetris games start at 10/10, and they get docked points for flaws that they add to the perfect formula. Other games start at 7 for some reason, and they struggle to work their way up to 9 or down to 6.
As for GT5, it's not even a racing game, so comparing it to other racers is pointless. It will probably be our highest rated virtual carshop simulation app though.
