Forums - Nintendo - DKCR Is Game Informer's Game of the Month

I didn't see this posted anywhere, but if it is I'm sorry about that.

I don't have a link to the review, but according to Gonintendo Gameinformer gave the game a 9.5, and awarded it the Game of the Month title. That is quite impressive for the busy month that is November.

I'm excited about the score, on the other hand having completed Goldeneye 007 which Gameinformer gave a 6.5 to and I would say it deserves more like a 9, I'm not sure how closely my opinions match up with theirs. Either way it is a strong start to reviews for the game.

Edit: One of the commenters on the Gonintendo article said this is the summary of the game informer review.

Concept - Retro Studios revives the Donkey Kong Country series and makes it better than ever

Graphics - Gorgeous characters and stages from beginning to end, with some awesome silhouetted areas sprinkled throughout

Sound - Familiar tunes are updated, and the new tracks fit perfectly

Playability - Shaking the Wii remote to roll can be frustrating, but it's a rare blemish in a near-perfect experience

Entertainment - One of the best platformers ever made, and it certainly resides amongst the Wii's top titles

Replay Value - Moderately High"

A Wii game is game of the month.....in GAME INFORMER!?  I was skeptical of whether or not the DK magic could be recreated.  Looks like I was worried for no reason.  For DKCR to get top honors in Game Informer, there is no doubt in my mind that this game is epic.  I shall be buying it.

Bu-bu-but... GI hates nintendo?

Game Informer...gave DKCR...a 9.5....and Nintendo didn't even buy any cover space?

...This game must be the second-coming.

Awesomeness, not even GI can stop DK now!

So God of war doesn't count because...? Is it because its handheld or do they have a way of breaking ties?

Both GoW and DKCR got 9.5s, so they just picked their favorite I guess.

Besides, we dont know about the second opinions yet, which are the traditional tie breakers.
