I haven't read many reviews of Fable 3. In fact, I think I may have skimmed over two reviews......maybe. For me, Fable 3 was a sure thing and I didn't want any spoilers. So I just finished Fable 3 this morning. Maybe nostalgia is playing a part--even though Fable 2 is only a couple of years old--but I think I enjoyed Fable 2 a bit more.
There was no sense of desperation like there was in "the Crucible" from Fable 2. There were no cool "over the top" characters like Hammer from Fable 2. You can't pick your shots with a ranged weapon like you could in Fable 2 (Oh, how I enjoyed shooting a Hollow Man's arms and head off before finishing them off!). 90% of the enemies from Fable 3 are from Fable 2. You can't really choose your expressions like you could in Fable 2 and the training of your dog is not as deep as it was in the older game. It seems like character creation options weren't as diverse this time, either. People don't even call me different nicknames or sing of my adventures, anymore. This is all off the top of my head.
Now, co-op was much better this time and I apprecieate the fact that our character speaks a little this time but......I had more fun with Fable 2. Both are awesome games but I just recall being drawn into the adventures of "Little Sparrow" quite a bit more. I plan to go back and play a little Fable 2 just to make sure that it's the same game I remember. But in the meantime, am I alone in thinking this?
