American figures will definitely go over 300k, Iwata specified DQIX as a title they see "evergreen" potential in and they're planning additional western advertising campaigns (targeting new consumer groups, specifically tween girls) for the holidays. As is, DQIX is outperforming DQVIII in America, despite the latter (1) launching during Q4 and (2) coming with the FFXII demo disc.
I think it'll pass 500k US in time, maybe even higher. The last time Nintendo put this sort of post-launch effort into a 3rd party title in the west was Professor Layton and the Curious Village, and look how that turned out...
