To be made by Nintendo?
In all seriousity Sony's mistake was assuming that the handheld market wanted a portable playstation. It's been shown that they don't, the playstation doesn't offer the types of games that most of the portable crowd plays. I think this is best shown by the fact that the best selling portable game of this generation is Nintendogs, followed by NSMB and Brain Training.
Until Sony makes compelling pick up and play portable titles that are far more 'casual' in nature than what they traditionally offer they will not be able to conquer to handheld market. When people want to play some deep engrossing experience they generally will do it at home on a console or PC.
Just look at the lists to get my point;

Competitive games and a competitive pricepoint. That's going to be a tall order given what we know of 3DS and what we've heard of PSP2...

120 instant karma points for you, Sir.
"What features do you want in PSP2 and think will help it compete against the competition"
Not features. The strongest point of the 3DS is the insane lineup that has already been announced. The PSP2 needs games. Lots of them, good ones. Better and more than the PSP had. It needs to launch with 2 blockbuster Sony IPs, as well as some big 3rd party games. GT:PSP2 needs to release as soon as it can
-3D
-More dev support
-Two hot women bundled with it
-Two Nubs and L2/R2

I'm going slightly off topic.
Around 5 years ago I was hit with a piece of common sense. it's called Convenience is KING. As long as it works with human behavior of the masses it will succeed. Breaking the entire thing down. Tools are more important than Toys. Because of this Tools are usually more expensive. Though I know people don't like to consider VG machines Toys. I use it only in a sense of entertainment. A Car is a Toy when driving for entertainment, but is a Tool when shuttling furniture.
If you over charge for a Toy people are less interested and making a Toy with MORE features doesn't increase the appeal or price to the masses. Though it will increase the appeal to the enthusiast. Saying all of that I know say this.
Around that 5 years ago I was thinking about technology that would suit the Cyberpunk age...(I'm a RPer). I called out that TV or the LCD monitor regardless of use. Will be more like a piece of cloth. It will unroll from a scroll like case. It will also have Touch Screen. Seeing Sony OLED made me smile. Can you imagine a 100" inch TV that just rolls into a scroll case. Or how about a 60 inch that you can lay on top of your table then play board games and use for general purpose.
Anyways. to Compete with the 3DS would be STUPID. It's just moronic to think that a company should Compete at all. It's smarter to design your device around the idea of fufulling a need. In that case you don't put the competition on the pedastal. You put the buyers on that spotlight.
So in that. Here is what I want. A closer hybrid to the PSP and DS. A little more than the DS, but with widescreen and tilt. Memory slot's work great. TS of course.... really I think the PSP is in the right direction. Sony just needs to stop being big fat mouth and do the right thing rather than wanking off to improving design.
Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

how does that make sense?
PSP has a comfortable installbase even after piracy took the games away
| dtewi said: Nothing. The 3DS has already won. |
now if SONY make a CES announcement before 3DS february release, that would be amazing

how is it a tall order when we already know 3DS is going to be expensive and all the games on 3DS are the typical for a Playstation platform and would be easily ported and plus new games
and we haven't heard anything about the price and game about the PSP2
Pokemon.
Seriously, PSP2 will sell much worse than PSP, Lots of ppl (mainly adults) who were interested in handhelds are turning their attention to smartphone, ipad sort of stuff now.
Handhelds are so out of date now imo.
