We can't say that $299 is the mass market price for the PS3 because we haven't seen how it can perform at the lower points of $250, and more importantly $199. The 360 did (and still is doing) perform exceptionally well. The Wii didn't.

The 360 continued to get excellent support though, which is what kept sales so good. And it actually increased in price in the UK.

Then I suppose this is a stalemate, though I believe a $100 pricecut isn't going to boost sales and stabilize at a much higher level afterwards.

30-35m more sales are a given?  In this industry at this point?

That might be possible if you swallow the PR and think next gen is really 5 years away still...

Well a good chuck of that will happen just over the next few months.  The joys of the the holiday season. 

However that would only match what the wii has now.  So it's beyond crazy to think that the ps3 will pass the wii's totaly.  The wii sold more in it's peak 2 years that the ps3 has sold total.

Not true. Because I'm going to win the Euro Million and buy about 10 Million PS3's, pushing it past the 360! :D

Well that's true.  I also didn't predict PS3 would be last place this gen, so there goes my record. ;)
