Forums - Nintendo - Can the DSi handle an 8 gig SD card? How 2 get/use Web browser?

I don't wanna but an 8 gig SD card just to find out that my DSi will become much slower or start freezing or all those funny things electronics do.  I currently have a 2 gig card. And I heard DSi has a web browser but I don't see one!

Mine handles a 32GB one, without freezing or slowing down (while using it).

However, putting a lot of music on it wasn't a good idea and I ended up barely using the card - it took a very long time to scan and index the files and there doesn't seem to be a cashing system that keep the data after the system's turned off.

Browser was free to download from the DSi store, probably still is seeing that even the Wii one is free now.

Thanks......besides d problem of scrolling thru the files, any other reason why it's not a good idea to put too many songs? About how many was too many for you?

Eeh... a lot of them. About 25GB of mp4s, so yeah... a whole lot of albums. Took minutes to build a browsable tree. Problem seems to be that since it doesn't have a dedicated structure where to put the music (e.g. a MP4 folder to always look in for music), it scans every file to build its list instead of just listing folders first and scanning each of them upon request.  So, the 32GB one wasn't worth it for me (luckily I found a use for it in my camera).

I'm actually using a 1GB card in the DSi now, and with just 7-8 albums it still takes quite a few seconds. I've pretty much stopped using it as a music player these days, put a 16Gb microSD in my mobile instead.
