hahaha vgchartz is so messed up. PS3 surpasses 360 with 70,000 WW, but the WW sales difference go from 5.1 million to 3.9 million. ZOMG. Someone didn't learn his Math 101.

And someone didn't do his common sense 101.

(Hint: It's called adjustments, which go as far back as 2 years)

So the numbers have been messed up for the last 2 years? Wow vgchartz is so dependable. oh and btw, just by saying someone didn't "do" his common sense 101, no one does common sense you idiot. Common sense just comes from you based on experience, so you don't "do" common sense. Apparently you have a Ph.D in stupidity. thanks for letting me know.

all 3 post where needless

Dude, seriously, I think it's obvious anyone with logic would know that such a difference in numbers can't be just some accident. Not when there's been so much discussion and even ioi himself commented on the situation.

He should just ask what's going on instead of posting such an ignorant comment.

agreed, but the negatives in each post got to me. theres no need for them to bash each other becuase of addjustments in the sells of PS3 or any console for that matter. the name calling was not need from those 2 posters no matter the reason.

first hi to everyone and Congratz to the ps3.here here well done.secondly i am a fan of the xbox360,but a game fan first.

someone in here mentioned that the ps2s penitration into other uncounted markets helped the ps3 to it,s continuing outselling of it,s competiors worldwide.that my friends is a half truth,it was in fact the ps1 that holds that honour.u see where i live in the caribbean(third world as people would call it).

in the ps1 era alot of 3rd world people were aware of it,s coming onto the world scene, and so bought alot of ps1 by either getting relatives to purchase it fro the usa,uk etc etc,and asia.at that time in my island of BARBADOS the ratio here was about 80-20 in terms of userbase in favour of the ps1.

it was king here and in many other islands in the caribbean.and it only snowballed with the ps2 and now the ps3.the markets that sony have sown the seed of unaccounted for marketshare is maturing significantly.and from now on it will be even harder tro track the ps3 as it is the small growing unaccounted markets like mine that will always keep the ps3 sony braned alive and growing when the competitors current gen devices have become obsolete,as their userbase has moved on to the next big thing,

the ps3 will still be selling and growing in marketshare well into the next gen and beyondddddd.all i want to say now is congratz to sony for a job well doneand what a master stroke you have played with your planting of seeds of marketshare in places where nintendo and microsoft have not been interested in pursuing,my hat goes off to you you are the true king of the hill. peace.

Great read :) thanks for sharing

I agree, PS3 shouldn't be damned for selling in more countrys, it's a good idea and I don't understand why Microsoft doesn't copy it. X360 is pretty cheap, and would do well VS PS3 in these developing countrys.

I don't know how much each of the big 3 know about each others shipments, but if MS realise this noticeable jump shipping to those countrys and shrugs it off, then that's a bad business decision, though I'm not going to pretend I have a clue the difficultys of launching in those countrys might be though.

If the adjustments put PS3 in line with more accurate sales, then at the end of the day I'm happy, there is no point living in lala land preteding the 360 is whipping PS3's ass when shipments say otherwise, obviously as a passionate 360 fan I'd prefer to see it on top, and I'm dissapointed with their shipements for the Q. I only hope it's because they plan a big shipment of Kinect bundles for the xmas Q.

Microsoft doesn't have the same economies of distributing it in so many places. Sony has because it deals in so much hardware of all kinds, with MS and Nintendo, hardware is a relatively small part of their business. If MS had a huge TV business etc., they'd be all over those emerging markets.

Though even so, MS and Nintendo should be fighting for them. They may not be the biggest prize now, but the whole world economy is in the process of changing and if you're reliant on the US and Japan, that's tough for you..

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.
