I played it for the 360 and PC.

You seem to think everyone bought it because of great strategic gameplay. In reality, people enjoyed the story telling. I mean most discussion about Dragon Age is in regard to the story. So I'm not surprised to see the series is going in direction that can appeal more to the masses.

Look at Fable. A much more popular game and its just a free roaming hack n' slash with witty dialogue.

Did I say DA2 wouldn't be more popular? It probably will be. But it will also be worse. And if people enjoy storytelling that much they should read a book, much cheaper.

Storytelling in games and storytelling in books are qualitatively different, one is not a proper substitute for the other.

Believe me, I'm hyped. Any REAL gameplay yet?

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

I think a movie would be a better substitute because that is visual.

Also... movies and books aren't generally interactive. This is a stupid discussion. i hate talking to you.

But don't we have so much fun together?

Sometimes... but then you fuck it up by being obnoxious. I don't think I love you anymore.

Third platform would hardly change anything as DA:O shipped more than double compared to ME2 first quarter they were out. You just can't accept that your argument fails. By sales perspective there really isn't much reasons to change DA to be more like ME.

Its not just a matter of there being three platforms vs two.

Dragon Age was on two platforms that get all sales from physical copies. Mass Effect 2 was only on one. I don't think I've even seen physical copies of Mass Effect 2 on the PC. I just presume they exist.

Also, who said DA is becoming more like ME? If anything its becoming more hack n' slash like Fable based on the video I saw.

The one character, the dialog wheel, the more action based combat. It all plays a part. That might be my biggest gripe with the whole deal, I preferred two individual, unique and quality games and now we get mass effect and mass effect swords edition.

I fail to see how this makes Mass Effect and Dragon Age the same. Lets bear in mind these are both coming from Bioware, so its not surprising  they'll have some similarities.

A few similarities doesn't change the fact that one is a shooter and the other is hack n' slash. One is sci fi and the other is fantasy.

They are still very different games and this is a very stupid discussion.

So are Gears Of War and God Of War 3 the same type of game?

I mean one has a TPS combat system....one has a hack n slashy combat system

so now they are one and the same and have nothing unique about eachother?

Please read what you are saying......DA and ME will still feel different.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

that is a horrible comparison, bioware has made it obvious that they want DA2 to be like mass effect. They've come out and said that was there goal. And everything they do makes it more mass effect like and takes it further from its classic PC rpg roots and the throwback series its supposed to be.

Beautiful trailer. Will be extremely hard to top Origins but this is one of my most anticipated games.

Darth you haven't played the PC version of DA... It was a lot different than Mass Effect and I too would have prefered they didn't go the ARPG route, and refine the system that was from DA:O... (im excited nonetheless) Because the way you controlled your powers was vastly different than in Mass Effect. And plus their previous action RPG was not so good combat wise (Jade Empire) Though ME1 was a bad shooter too and they improved it significantly in ME2

for you it would be like if they made final fantasy an ARPG

oh wait :P
