and my problem with your beliefs are why are you believing in 2 different things? 1st you say you wouldn't be surprised if there close vgc expects 400k and now you say its possible it can be over a 1M b/c vgc has the sold gap at 1M

?? I "wouldn't" be surprised if they came close, that's true, and yes I think there is a chance it could be 1 mill apart.

thats over 1.1M ps3s, slim launched sept so thats only 1 month data

this years data will have all 3 months of 360 slim and 2 months of $199 4gb slim also i believe theres some discounted models of $149-249-300 are in this data too and the halo reach launch

as it was pointed out in here and the likely scenario the gap between there shipments might be in the 300-700k range in 360s favour thats far off from that 1.1M

so in conclusion if i was a MS fan i would be a bit disappointed if there gap is below 1M considering all the 360 had during these months

It didn't have a much anticipated $100 price cut either BHR, and i'd wait for the figures if I were you, what if shited last september ending Q is irrelevent when predicting what it'll do this year.

thats all it had though and it was on record for just sept even if 360 didnt get a price cut during this time and wont get one this holiday season theres no denying that its relaunch was just as big as sonys slim last year

VGChartz have the sold different at around 1 million, so why are you acting as if 1.1 million is some crazy number?


VGC has 360 outselling PS3 by about 830k for Q3.

The September quarter figures for shipments are always somewhat bullshitty because companies want to have enough of the hot product and the big three want to make their projections / supply enough / still sell a ton of systems in Nov-Dec. That said, X360 sales were about 50% higher PS3 sales this quarter. Even with PS3 likely to beat X360 in Japan / Europe over Oct - Dec thats not enough to offset 50% this quarter, and so there is really no reason to expect PS3 to be ahead of X360 as Move is selling to the base partially and the figures for PS3 are lower than for X360. Its not like last year when there was a price cut to bring in alot of new users and the Slim to sell to old users.

My guess is the 20m are shipped through the end of, not holidays but FY.(assuming they could do that anyway)..Really starting to doubt Sony's own mouth.

I have to agree with this.  Jack was probably rounding some.  Real numbers are probably more like 18-19 mil.  Which would also mean a little undertracking on VGC.
