Except they already have a very loyal Apple base, and they could get them to buy TVs etc, especially if they had integrated Apple TV so they could compete more directly with the recent Sony google TVs

Apple doesn't want to build every product under the sun like Sony does. That's not their business model.

Nintendo is the only real video game company, both MS and Sony make most of their money on other products/services.

Sony purchase seems unlikely to me.  Poor corporate fit, expensive purchase and Apple'd be buying a company still struggling to sort itself out.  Plus they'd need to pick through local goverment rules, etc.

Yeah, they could fastrack into TVs and the like but they'd still need to sort out a lot of overlapping portable/computer products and, perhaps most negatively, it would seriously change the Apple brand.  Apple is Macs, iPads, etc.   Not PCs and general electronics.

Adobe I could see but again it's so PC centric as well.

Disney... well, Jobs in already in place there to an extent so I guess he'd know whether it makes sense.

I guess is they are looking at a big purchase we'll hear about it soon enough... such things almost always leak... but for now this seems like a pretty early and without merit rumour.



Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

And we thought the PS3 was overpriced at launch.

Imagine, the "Apple" PS4 coming out, no less than $1000, because that's how Apple operates, then making a newer model with slightly more features every 6 months. We're fucked

Every company tries to maximize profits. Apple just does it better than most.
